Back in January, calm weather and a colourful late afternoon sky presented some silver birch tree reflections in a New Forest pond.
I watched this Pied-billed Grebe (Podilymbus podiceps) swimming and diving about the Emeralda Marsh Conservation Area's calm water as it was looking for food. Pied-billed grebes feed mainly on aquatic invertebrates like snails and insects as well as on small fish and amphibians like frogs and tadpoles.
Emeralda Marsh Conservation Area in Florida is a popular place for birding and wildlife photography.
A little rabbit you hang ouside your clothes when walking in the dark. He shows up very well from car headlights to make you visible. I had to cut off a little bit of his toes to fit the MM size.
