The silver swan, who living had no note.
When death approach'd, unlock'd her silent throat;
Leaning her breast against the reedy shore,
Thus sung her first and last, and sung no more.
Farewell, all joys; O Death, come close mine eyes;
More geese than swans now live, more fools than wise.
...I looked up and saw myself in the mirrored ceiling and couldn't resist a shot! (when no one was looking; they might have thought I was quite mad)!!!
Everywhere you look in Antarctica are dramatic ice vistas. This image is in color but has the drama of black and white. The calm reflection makes it very symmetrical.

In the 19th century a settlement of charcoal burners and lumbermen had been located at this remote place south of the forest pond Siebenborn near the village of Mandern. In 1820 the settlement consisted of 24 families including 154 individiuals. In 1840 the Prussian government began to relocate the settlement to the border areas of the nearby villages. No visible relicts of the settlement buildings remained.
In the lake at Marks Hall. There are some beautiful colours from the many birch trees along the edge of it
High contrast and a drop in brightness meant I could draw the colours and shapes out from this one. The problem with trying to take this kind of shot successfully is to manage NOT to fall in!
I can see a veiled woman for a start... :)
Always on the alert for a good reflection shot, this Great Egret was kind enough to make a long slow pass just above the water. I managed to get a couple dozen decent frames in various wing positions during that pass. At ten frames a second that was not a difficult task.
Reflections in life come back to you permanently as reminder that there always different ways to see things

Here is a video of timelapses taken during my Reflection Canyon trip from 3/31/2019 to 4/3/2019. It was such an unforgettable experience to witness the nature beauty in such a low water level.
I spotted this lotus flower laying in the pond. They only shot I could get was from behind, so I decided to get creative. I used spot metering, so the background would be dark but I would capture the flower and the reflection on the water.
