Quick shot before work in this mornings mist. The mist was just lifting as I arrived, but I quite like the being able to just see the riverbank on the over side.
Second picture of my series Reflections, all taken in the Albufera of Valencia.
(This time a self-portrait in the blue hour, just after sunset, between day and night.)
Albufera means, according to its Arab origin, small sea.
In some poems it was called the Mirror of the Sun.
On the technical side, say that I only used a neutral gradient three steps filter. I put the camera on the tripod and put the ten-second timer.
I did several tests, I had to run a lot to get to the end of the old pier and then I stayed for 20 seconds still as a statue, then ran again to the beginning and shoted two times of manual flash in hand to illuminate softly the wood.
I hope you like it. Have a nice Friday. :)

A shot of the Alberta prairie near Calgary taken just after midnight. The scene is illuminated by the near full moon to the back of me.
We have a lot of water this year, but you can see that the level has dropped as indicated by the weeds on the barb wire fence.
Week 6/52
This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Reflection.” I wanted to do a shot where my reflection didn’t match what was in front of the mirror, but had trouble deciding what the two images could be. I finally thought of the René Magritte painting “Not to be Reproduced,” which you can see here. So this is my homage to that work.
The photo is about a reflection in the water of a very small part of earth. Here we can see a natural frame made by the nature itself and a house in it.

Great reflection of trees starting to color at the park and lakes around the Bärenschlössle in Stuttgart, Germany
Probably my best photo from a visit to the White Hills Botanic Gardens over the weekend.

The world is a looking-glass, and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face. Frown at it, and it will in turn look sourly upon you; laugh at it and with it, and it is a jolly kind companion. ~ William Makepeace Thackeray

This is a photo of a reflection on a lake surface near it's shoreline. The actual photo has the sky on the bottom and the hills on the top. I decided to see what it would look like if I rotated it so the orientation is what you see here -- what we would expect to see in a landscape type photo. (Leslie Gulch DSC_3658.jpg)
