I'd been watching this charming little tree come into full blossom over the previous week. Thankfully, with all the rain, the water had risen high enough for the reflections.

In the beautiful surroundings of the Cetina river canyon, Radman´s mills restaurant offers a great selection of local specialties in which the variety of the surrounding landscape: the sea, mountains and the Cetina meet.
Relax in the midst of ancient trees and taste the river specialties (frogs, eels, trout), sea fish, food made under the lid and grilled food…
In 2006, my daughter Christy and I spent a few days in Amsterdam before I was scheduled to teach a class in nearby Alkmaar for work. It was a fabulous experience! So, this time I returned to the Netherlands with my husband - no work involved. With so many bikes in the background, here's a reflection of Dick and I in a scooter mirror.
Mirrored in layers of thin ice forming on the lake on Bluebird Estates, Alberta, Canada, this log house reflection image is inspired by Expressionism.
Expressionistic Movements (Late 19th - Early 20th Century)
Expressionism developed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Expressionis[m] was opposed to academic standards that had prevailed in Europe and emphasized artist's subjective emotion, which overrides fidelity to the actual appearance of things. The subjects of expressionist works were frequently distorted, or otherwise altered. Landmarks of this movement were violent colors and exaggerated lines that helped contain intense emotional expression. Application of formal elements is vivid, jarring, violent, or dynamic. Expressionist were trying to pinpoint the expression of inner experience rather than solely realistic portrayal, seeking to depict not objective reality but the subjective emotions and responses that objects and events arouse in them. In the years just around 1910 the expressionistic approach pioneered by Ensor, Munch, and van Gogh, in particular, was developed in the work of three artists' groups: the Fauves, Die Brucke, Der Blaue Reiter.
Used the Figge Art Museum as a base for this shot. Flipped the image (more dramatic looking down than up)
and then layered in a nice sunset.
This shot was taken while leading a group of six and seven year old children on a spring nature walk through a wooded urban park. One child called our attention to a tiny water strider walking along the surface of the water, a lesson in water surface tension itself. I noticed the vivid reflections which appeared particularly brilliant and unusually colorful as a backdrop against the radiant verdant tones of the bright, fresh, leafy vegetation. The contour of the beech in the right foreground created a serpentine focal point. The bed of soft textured moss provided yet another of nature's nascent enhancements. The effect reminded me of an impressionist painting, an observation that shall be shared with the children as a entry point into that art form. I had set my Olympus E-510 on its "Vivid" mode which helps to account for the brilliance in those backgrond reflections.

Now that I have no more inhibition with post processing, I'll just go ahead and explore reflections in any way possible :))
I took the famous Norway in a Nutshell tour, where it rained almost continually, making it hard to take good photos. But I got lucky here as we entered a fjord and came across this small village right on the water. Given the weather and the isolation, I wouldn't want to live here, but it's still pretty and charming.
