The Silver Swan, Who Living Had No Note

The silver swan, who living had no note.

When death approach'd, unlock'd her silent throat;

Leaning her breast against the reedy shore,

Thus sung her first and last, and sung no more.

Farewell, all joys; O Death, come close mine eyes;

More geese than swans now live, more fools than wise.

Thank you very much for viewing my photo and for any comments or favs you do, it's very much appreciated :o)

Reflection in water

Reflections in a cloudy day

Subway between Kings Cross and St. Pancras stations.

A self portrait---as reflected in the eye of a nearby surfacing cormorant. I'm the form just above the pupil at 11-12:00, sitting on a pier next to the vertical piling.

In the lake at Marks Hall. There are some beautiful colours from the many birch trees along the edge of it

Cropped - No Filter - No Adjustments

Reflections from trees during the sunset, in a small lake in potamia area, Evritania Greece

The reflections along the Hillsborough River are entirely peaceful. That is until you realize alligators lurk just below the surface.

But if I was an alligator, this seems like the perfect place to live. I'm living in a state park, I don't get harassed, there are plenty of turtles to munch, and I don't have to get stuck in someone's pool and have my jaws taped shut.

In reality, alligators have it hard. Only a small percentage make it to maturity. The most energetic, most intelligent among them live out their full lives. And the luckiest of those are living here in these beautiful parks.

High contrast and a drop in brightness meant I could draw the colours and shapes out from this one. The problem with trying to take this kind of shot successfully is to manage NOT to fall in!

I can see a veiled woman for a start... :)

I tried this one. Thoughts?

The broken trees with no bark add a striking contrast to this lake reflection.

...reflection in the windows

La beauté est dans les yeux du photographe... et dans ses mains, même quand elles semblent vertes à cause du reflet ! – ou comment complètement rater une photo et prétendre qu’on l’a fait exprès 😄

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, even if the reflections make it look like I have green hands! 😄

Always on the alert for a good reflection shot, this Great Egret was kind enough to make a long slow pass just above the water. I managed to get a couple dozen decent frames in various wing positions during that pass. At ten frames a second that was not a difficult task.

Designed in the 1960s by the firm I.M. Pei & Partners (Araldo Cossutta and I. M. Pei, design partners), the 14-acre (57,000 m2) Christian Science Plaza along Huntington Avenue includes a large administration building, a colonnade, a reflecting pool, Reflection Hall, and fountain that together make it one of Boston's most visually recognizable sites and a popular tourist attraction.[8]
