These magnificent mountains are called The Seven Sisters. When the tide is low small pools of water make nice reflections of the mighty Sisters.

Those we love, Never go away They walk beside us every day... unseen... unheared... still near... Still loved... Still missed and still very dear!

I can't look at this photo and his eyes without feeling very sad for the lemurs' life in captivity. Not to discredit the wildlife reserve owner's lifetime committment to wildlife conservation but it doesn't seem right. The deer and most of the birds, except the keas (who have an excellent free flight aviary and catering service) and kiwis, run free in the reserve.

Now I must admit this image is not a true reflection (pun intended) of what I captured with my camera. If you look back in my photostream you will see this same image without the reflection. Using the freeware Paint.NET with the addition of a free plugin I created this image in a few seconds. I have seen a lot of similar 'reflection' shots - now you and I know that they may not be real.

Day 24 [1-24-18]

It is weird that exhaustion can come from both high levels of activity and lack there of. I was on fire watch all day and was near the point of passing out on set. It could also be partly due to my lack of sleep. I have actually slept ok the past few nights, its just that the mornings can get very rough. I end up dozing in and out in the shower and I end up needing to make a coffee in the room to be able to make the drive over to set safely. Other than that, I am having a great time in Charlotte. Day three is tomorrow, another day another dollar.

~ I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring!

From the boudoir shoot I did last week. I was a big fan of the reflection shots we did. My friend is literally six feet tall and breathtaking so it was a lot of fun shooting her.

I wanted to get inspired today so I went through Rosie Hardy's photostream and as always was very much inspired by her breathtaking and incredible self portraits.

My other goal was to try and get some nice lighting with my reflector, which I thought was going to be hard by myself but it turns out leaning it against my tripod worked perfectly. These are the two I was most happy with.

After I completed this...it reminded me of those Gatorade commercials. This wasn't my original intent. I wanted to use the dropplets of water to exaggerate and magnify the tone of the flesh. I used the light from an outside window.

"Reflecting" - contemplating: a calm, lengthy, intent consideration

"Reflection" - mirror image: a likeness in which left and right are reversed Reflection occurs when light changes direction as a result of "bouncing off" a surface like a mirror.
