Part of the payment earned by operative masons/apprentices in biblical times who in the quarry formed the stone blocks or more elaborate works that they had carved and marked as their work. They were paid by piece work.
I provide virtual reference on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in Second Life. I loved this pic because I was dressed in my Victorian best and thought the horned devil made a nice photogenic complement. Turned out to be a faculty member from another state. Always cool to meet new people I'd never run into otherwise.

Species: Pronghorn Antelope
Sex: Male
Location from: South Dakota
Other: An adult male sourced as waste from 2018’s pronghorn hunting season. This guy in particular died while chewing on an ungulate nasal bone.
Species Info: Pronghorns aren’t actually antelopes, but their own species and are closest related to giraffes. They are known for their speeds (often called “speed goats”) and are the only “horned” animal to routinely shed their horns.
They are native to the West of the North American continent.
I was trying to find a good vantage point to shoot some test-shots of a new lens.
