Beautiful Early Marsh-orchid (Dachtylorhiza incarnata subsp. incarnata). The genus name Dachtylorhiza means finger-lobed tubers in Greek (‘dactylos’ – finger, ‘rhiza’ – root) with reference to its palmately divided (2-5 lobes) tubers; while ‘incarnata’ in Latin means ‘to make into flesh’. So, the two scientific names together could sound quite poetic: ‘The flesh raised from roots’. Taken at Clattinger Farm, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, Wiltshire, England.
I'm not totally sure that this car is chassis SL76/148, but a search on the internet for Chris Beighton throws up a lot of information regarding his purchase of this car, so I'm assuming the car seen here is the same as referenced online.
And if that is the case, the car has quite a history, getting written off in 1969 at the Nurburgring 1000km by driver Rothstein, and Lola replacing the car with a new chassis using the same chassis number. The car was then crashed again at Zeltweg, and was sold damaged to Barrie Smith who had Lola build a new car using just the roof section, engine and gearbox from the remains.Barrie then took the car to 1st place in 1970 at the Crystal Palace race (amongst other less successful outings).

Again, two worlds: on the right, the reflection of a lady in the window of a train passing through a station at great speed. On the left, what you perceive from the station from the perspective of the train. What is moving? The train or the train station?
The "City of dreaming spires" reference to Oxford and its university comes originally from an 1866 poem of Matthew Arnold.
Another commemorative mosaic in Vienna. The tour guide said it honored Jewish cultural contributions to the city, I think. Not sure where it was, exactly. Maybe on Turkenstrasse or Maria-Theresien Strasse. Not sure of the date, haven't been able to find a reference to the artist.
NRHP Reference#:85002493n. It overlooks 34 acres (140,000 m2) of rolling land including a boathouse on the north shore of Long Island adjacent to Long Island Sound. Brown lost ownership of the property after the stock market crash of 1929.
Puzzlewood (grid reference SO578092) is an ancient woodland site and tourist attraction, near Coleford in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England.[1][2] The site, covering 14 acres (5.7 ha), shows evidence of open cast iron ore mining dating from the Roman period, and possibly earlier.
Over a mile of pathways were laid down in the early 19th century to provide access to the woods, and provide picturesque walks. The area contains strange rock formations, secret caves and ancient trees, with a confusing maze of paths.
The site is listed as a regionally important geological site in the 'Forest of Dean Local Plan Review
The geological features on show at Puzzlewood are known as scowles. Scowles originated through the erosion of natural cave systems formed in the Carboniferous Limestone many millions of years ago. Uplift and erosion caused the cave system to become exposed at the surface. This was then exploited by Iron Age settlers through to Roman times for the extraction of iron ore. It is usually impossible to date open cast extraction precisely, although ores with a chemical signature consistent with those from the Forest of Dean were certainly used to make tools and weapons in the late prehistoric period

I finally got to see my first Bearded Reedling. I only managed to fire off two shots before it flew away. I waited for some time but it didn't come back.
With the masts already in place, 47727 'Edinburgh Castle' is seen heading into the loop at Kilby bridge. The working was the 5Q74 0917 Wembley Intercity Depot - Derby Litchurch lane dragging Southwestern unit 701002 30/11/23. For future reference the shot for anything going into the loop from the bridge isn't possible but the fasts still look to be ok. (Taken using a pole)
The We're Here! gang is celebrating fruits and vegetables on tripods today.
Of course the "Which came first – the chicken or the egg?" reference won't work for those of you who call eggplants "aubergines"!
The dome has now finally regained its historical appearance with the recently added sculptures of the prophets, replicas of the figures that originally stood on the balustrade. This religious reference was due to the fact that the palace chapel was located under the dome, which was replaced by an exhibition room of the Ethnological Museum during the reconstruction.

The Humboldt Forum, which opened on 20 July 2021, is a unique place of experience and encounter in the heart of Berlin's historic centre. A place with a special history. The building was erected from 2012 to 2020 on the site of the historic Berlin Palace, which had been severely damaged by bombs in World War II and finally blown up in 1950, and features its reconstructed façades on three outer sides and in its inner courtyards. The east wing on the banks of the Spree and parts of the inner courtyards, which were not baroque in the original palace but dated from earlier eras, have been built in modern forms. With the collections of the National Museums in Berlin, the Berlin City Museum and the Humboldt University in Berlin, it expands the neigbouring Museum Island's offerings.

Except for the Spree side, the exterior of the building is a replica of the Berlin Palace, which is considered the "major work of the North German Baroque", while the interior is a completely modern construction by the Italian architect Franco Stella. The modern parts of the building were financed by 572 million euros of public money, the historic facades by 105 million euros of private donations.
In addition to the Ethnological Museum Berlin and the Museum of Asian Art of the National Museums, the Humboldt Forum is also home to the Berlin Exhibition of the City Museum and to the Humboldt Laboratory of the University. The institution also hosts various events as well as special and temporary exhibitions.
