For me, the star of the show this weekend, wasn't an eagle at all. It was his gorgeous buck. One of the cool things about Guntersville State Park is it is covered up with dear that have no real fear of people. This makes from some great photo ops.

I think it is safe to say that we have an egg :D. When I got to the nest this afternoon, mom was hunkered down like she was sitting on a egg. It didn't take long for dad to show up with a nice, tasty fish for mom to eat. After which, he flew off again and she settled right back down.
That should mean we can expect eaglets around the first week of January and we should be able to see them about two weeks after that. I do love this time of year.
December Photography Class:
Lovely Lizards will be hosting a 2-Day photography class, taught by Lovely Lizards Photographer, Roger Reetz. It will be beneficial for both “Point and Shoot” and DSLR camera owners but will have a heavy focus on using a DSLR camera. Weather permitting; we will also get some hands on practice with taking pictures outdoors.
The course will be held at the Orange Beach Golf Center on Canal Road, on Saturday, December 8th, from 9-4ish and Sunday December 9th, from 1-8ish. The cost of the class is $75 We will break for lunch on Saturday, but please bring a bag lunch for Sunday. Sometimes, when I "shoot" wildlife, I like to take a minute to look deep into their eyes and wonder what thoughts are going through their minds. Just how advanced are their thought processes? Do they understand their lot in life?Do they dream? Do they have hope for the future?Just how much "love" are they capable of?
Have a great week Lizard Fans. I have lots more zoo photos to come :).

The weather finally cleared up enough for me to have a few minutes of visit my beloved eagles before heading off to do Christmas Eve festivities. I was fortunate enough to catch the shift change where mom came to relieve dad. It is always an amazing experience.

It's a few days late, but my (Kelly approved) 50th birthday present to myself has finally arrived! This beauty was built and cerakoted by one of my favorite, former students, Diego Gramajo. He and his wife Kristen own DK Custom Coatings in Ohio. Diego is FFL holder and can fill custom orders of all types. You should really check his work out. Thank you for this Diego. I will always cherish this rifle.

Blaue Schafe
I was truly amazed by the number of agencies that responded to the fire at Gulf State Park yesterday. Fortunately, the winds were in everyone's favor, but if they had shifted out of the East, the fire would have quickly gone to home homes and businesses that back up to the marsh. This could have been devastating for our whole community. Firemen that aren't even from here marched out into that snake, alligator, and brier field swamp to protect property of people they don't even know.

I had a nice time on the beach this afternoon, "shooting birds". The sandpipers have always been one of my favorite shore birds. I think this one is a "Sanderline".

I have wanted to take this picture for quite some time and last night I finally took out a little time to do it. It is a long exposure at the Orange Beach Art Center. For this photo, I used the following settings: 8 seconds, f/8.0, ISO 100, 24mm.

I met this girl in 1995, when she was a hot, college sophomore. We've been married 20 years and she is still smoking hot and the love of my life.
We have had some great reflections around Orange Beach the last couple of nights. This photo was taken two nights ago at the Orange Beach Waterfront Park. Reflections and long exposures make for some great shots. Camera Settings: 30 seconds, f/6.3, 60mm, ISO-100.

Honey, we're home :). I was really starting to worry that the Bald Eagles of Gulf State Park were not coming back this year. I was ecstatic this afternoon to find mom sitting on her nest and dad sitting in his favorite dead tree nearby. They even did a better job of rebuilding their nest this year (last year it was crooked). I'm excitedly looking forward to another winter of shooting eagles :).

Weiterlesen: www.mehr-demokratie.de/globaler_aktionstag.html
