Barbie and guest star Midge

The next day, Midge invites Barbie out for a coffee date so they can catch up since they haven't seen each other in a long time

Midge === Thank you for coming to coffee with me Barbie.

Barbie === Oh don't mention it. I need some time to cater to myself and I'm glad I'm able to do that with you.

Midge === Has work been busy for you?

Barbie === That and a lot more. It's the summer season so you know how that goes.

Midge === What events do you have going on right now?

Barbie === Well Teresa is finalizing her spring and summer collection and we're going to host a fashion show. We're also going to promote the returning group, The Diva Starz.

Midge === I read that they were making a comeback. I hope it goes well for them this time around.

Barbie === I hope so too.

Midge === How are things with Ken?

Barbie === Uh... they're okay. Yeah they're good.

Midge === Okay spill Barbie. What's wrong?

Barbie === Midge... he left me. -she begins to cry-

Midge === He did what?

Barbie continues to inform Midge about everything that happened

So I did a retake on a shoot I did a year ago with Andyy Chase for my 'Dreampunk' Series (which is being based off a story that I've been writing for my own enjoyment, this was an excuse to help build characters for the story - basically base them off real life people)

We reshot one of our favorite sets 'Dreamcatcher Andyy' which can be viewed on this page, not sure if I should take them down or keep them up for the viewing purposes of how in a year a concept can change. Same model, location, outfit (minus tights).

The other images are going to be submitted so I might not share more than this one for now:

This is my first attempt at redoing a LEGO set. This along with the Tri-Star Voyager are a couple of my all time favourite sets. I suppose because they were among the very first sets that I ever had.

I have tried to incorporate as many features and parts of the original as possible. I did change the front end lights from red to yellow as I prefer the yellow and thought the red looked a bit weird at this size.

This was our team for Parsons School Of Design's Retro Redux, which challenged participants to design an Atari 2600 game completely from concept to completion in less than 24 hours. We all brainstormed the concept then my duties were to create the sound and music as well as level design. I also photoshopped a concept cartridge for our game.

The game was titled Lugsy and was about a car who ate luggage. The goal was to eat so much luggage that you would grow heavy and fall through the earth all the way to the other side and then continue falling till you reached Australia Heaven. It was beautiful.

We all wore significantly different colors to represent flavors... Fruit Punch, Grape, Strawberry & Cherry.

This artwork is a redux of the Renamon artwork I made last year. Renamon, a Digimon, that is battling an unseen foe while leaping from the face of a vending machine to attack its enemy. Renamon is a fox humanoid Digimon with yellow fur covering most of its body, except for its hands, feet, chest and the tips of its ears and tail which are white fur. Its arms are covered with purple sleeves and there are purple symbols on its knees. Renamon has slender body features and is tall for a rookie level Digimon. In battle Renamon uses its speed instead of power to defeat its foes. Renamon’s main attack is Diamond Storm, it leaps into the air and summons multiple shards of light that it shoots at its foe.

The environment the battle takes place in is an open grassy field with green trees and telephone poles in the background. There is a metallic pink battery capacitor in the middle ground and a stainless steel vending machine and a yellow Renamon in the foreground. In the sky there are light wisps of clouds. Also in the sky there are data portals with pink data stream beams coming out from them. The reason for the telephone poles, vending machine, and battery is because in the Digimon world there are random electronic technologies incorporated into the natural environments to create a juxtaposition between man made technology and nature. Renamon is seen running and leaping from the face of the vending machine to gain height advantage over the other Digimon it is fighting. Although Renamon can leap high into the air over its foe to evade or preform its Diamond storm attack, having Renamon leaping from a vending machine adds a parkour element to the fight.

Renamon is the main focal point of the art, its bright yellow body and dominant presence in the art immediately grabs the viewers attention. The battle occurs during a sunny time of day so bright saturated colors are used throughout the art. The color of Renamon’s fur is bright yellow and it’s darker desaturated purple sleeves mix complimentary colors. The sky is a deep blue and the data stream beams are bright pink, mixing cool and warm colors. As the environment elements recede towards the background they begin to blur and loss color saturation creating atmospheric perspective. Renamon’s running body and all the other elements of the environment are all to some degree diagonally angled creating a feeling of motion and giving energy to the art. There are a number of textures throughout the art. Renamon’s body fur was created using brushes with thin lines that were applied in layers to give the illusion of clumps of fur, then the areas were smudged to make hair ends. To create the trees a foliage brush was used to create layers of clumps of green leaves.

I decided to redux Renamon because I wanted to make it have more natural fluid body movements. To achieve this there is more foreshortening of its body features. The fur is angled to give the impression of motion. Its right arm is swinging backward and its left arm is swinging forward as it runs and jumps through the air and lands on the vending machine face. The right leg is hiked up with foreshortening of the leg and purple swirl. The left foot is firmly planted on the face of the vending machine causing the glass to break under Renamon’s body weight. The body has more subtle changes in value tones across the features making it appear more full and rounded. I left the sky, telephone poles, trees and data streams alone because they looked good as they were. Renamon itself was the main element I wanted to redux. The vending machine is the only other element I changed, adding more details, such as buttons, broken glass from Renamon’s foot, CD jewel cases, and highlights to the metal.

I have been a fan of Digimon since 1999. I own a lot of merch and have watched the anime numerous times. I like a lot of different types of Digimon and Renamon is one of my favorites. Renamon is a beautiful looking Digimon with a coat of sleek yellow fur and slender body features. When it moves it has grace and agility in its movements, it can traverse many types of terrain effortlessly. Renamon is said to be very intelligent, it can learn its foes tactics very quickly and use its speed to evade and counter attack. For this artwork I wanted to have Renamon running and leaping from a wall over a foe because I wanted to add a parkour element into Digimon. I got the idea from a Mirror’s Edge concept art that has Faith Connors wall running on a billboard away from security guards and towards the viewer. So, instead of a wall or billboard I chose a vending machine because I wanted to make a connection between Digimon and Mirror’s Edge. In the Digimon World video game there are vending machines scattered throughout the world. The player can access these machines for items, but the Digimon themselves can not interact or leap from them.
