Granny crossed over yesterday, passed away, died. This was the last we saw each other, in our hometown Pittsburgh, May of this year, just before her 102nd birthday.
I spoke with her about once every 2 or 3 weeks though and our last conversation was as usual, with some mutual consternation about our health and the weather, some shared good humor about the trials and tribulations of our lives, and always laughter and much love.
She was a tough one to know, y'know? Born into our historical familial hardships in 1917, she was of a generation that didn't "share", talk, reference the past but for names, dates, events.
But she took me in for my first few years as an infant - even as she had just borne her own last child 11 months before - and told me often over the years that I was like a youngest of her own. That early bond of care and safety created an affection that remained true and strong, in spite of years out of each other's orbits, to the end.
I will miss her dearly, my Granny love, always, forever.
Looks like this one sat for too long at the wrong edge of the township.
Redux of something done last year, betterified with more 3d Skillz0rs.

I was never very happy with the bedroom, and finally had a good reason to fix up the little things. The bedposts were spindly, and I've already talked about the dresser. But the cat needed a basket to sleep/hide in, probably the most important thing.
Fixed a few parts that you guys brought up
-moved rear mag a bit farther away from the stock
-Fixed the Dissapearing Barrel
-Removed Suppressor and added a muzzle break (for kicks and giggles) (the actual muzzle break is quite a bit larger)

I have been busy lately, and not just with my daughters' play. Among other things, a local monthly newspaper, The Chatham Press, is going to do a spread on my photography! I am very excited and a little scared, and I have been spending time selecting local photos that will convert well to black and white for the paper (a better quality paper and print than your typical newspaper).
Ironically, it looks like I will be in this paper twice this month as they are also doing an article on the play my daughter was involved in, and my photos will be in that, too.
I figured one of my b&w conversions of an old photo of mine that I will be submitting would work perfectly for Sliders Sunday. HSS!

The Association Along Comes Mary
Alan, Ken and Darren
They arrive from their tour
Darren === The tour went well don't you guys agree?
Alan === Yeah it was. I enjoyed the beaches for the most part.
Darren === What about you Ken?
Ken === ......
Darren === Earth to Ken -he waves his hand in front of Ken's face-
Ken === Oh! Yeah... the tour was great.
Alan === Ken are you alright? You were very quiet on our way here.
Darren === Yeah man, what's up?
Ken === Nah everything's okay.
In that moment a red car pulled up to pick up Ken
Ken === Oh my ride is here. I'll see you guys at the office tomorrow.
Alan === You're not riding with us?
Ken === No. Thanks though.
Darren === Who's that?
Ken === A friend. I'll see you guys later.
Ken proceeds to get in the car and it takes off
Alan === Did you catch who was in the car?
Darren === No, the windows were tinted.
Alan === We'll just ask him tomorrow.
Darren === Yeah. Come on let's go grub.
Alan === Amen to that.
As a boy, I felt that the beauty queen smiles were aggression,
towards the demeaning set up that they barely tolerated, even through their ambition.
Raquelle and Ryan
The next day, Ryan walks into the archive room.
Ryan === Hey sis, how's it going?
Raquelle === Don't call me that. I'm here finishing some orders for the fashion show. What brings you to this side of the garden?
Ryan === Barbie and I have a meeting with the Diva Starz.
Raquelle === You and Barbie? Why you?
Ryan === Well Ken isn't back from the tour yet and since I'm the only one in charge of Blossoms Men Co. right now I need to be present for the interview.
Raquelle === So her break-up with Ken has nothing with you drooling over her?
Ryan === NO!!!
Raquelle === Sure Ryan... Sure. -she lets out a small giggle-
Ryan === Anyway...
Raquelle === When are Ken and they guys coming back anyway?
Ryan === Later tonight.
Raquelle === I thought you were going to go.
Ryan === No, Alan really wanted to go so I let him take my spot.
Raquelle === Wow... Look at you. So..... generous.
Ryan === The sound of that word coming from you is awful.
Raquelle === It's foreign to me.
Ryan === I bet.
My second attempt to improve upon my first attempt. Taken at the new McGovern Centennial Gardens, right beside the museum of natural science down by Memorial Herman Park.
Taken back in February. I'm just going through some older RAW files and remembering what I didn't like about some older flickr uploads...
Returning to one of my earliest shots on flickr, and having a play with Lightroom and Photoshot to see if i can breathe new life into it.
Sadly, it was taken in the days (2006) before i was shooting RAW so its a bit limited to how much can be done now, and i'm not even sure i'd call this an improvement, i just saw the old file and wanted to have a play. Thoughts and feedback are always welcome (but sometimes ignored :)

Got asked to re-jig an old image for Portmanteau's up and coming interview in 'Crack' Magazine.
Here's the old image for those of you who like to compare.
www.flickr.com/photos/sainty_what/2193813928/
I don't normally go back or revisit old images however the old image was made over two years ago and it was fun to take it apart and re-do it. Could see how my work had progressed since then.
Another History-Redux pic taken *exactly* 10 years ago. This of Chizuko and Travus farming in the back yard of her family's home in Tokyo, Japan. The family has a history of farming going back over 500+ years (that's as far back as we can tell on the tombstones at the local cemetery; most likely goes back *much* further!).
Tokyo, Japan.
Cartridge: 5.56x45mm
Fire Rate: 700 rpm
Range: 600 meters
Capacity: 35rounds/mag
Extras: Top/side rail attachments, handguard RIS, suppressor, sling
One of EC's earliest rifle designs. Despite using a now outdated cartridge, it set a new industry standard upon release. While it may be lacking in stopping power and the technological amenities of its more modern counterparts, its design still holds up today. Even though it's not as widely used as it once was, it is nevertheless a common sight with law enforcement, and still sees limited military deployment.
Here's the original:
I like this older image of mine so much that I decided to give it a new life. Aztec dancers in Puerto Vallarta.

Raquelle, Ryan and Christie
Raquelle sits in the lounge of Blossoms Inc. as Christie and Ryan walk in.
Christie === -she laughs as she walks in then realizes Raquelle is in the room- Oh look your sister is here.
Ryan === Great.... -they approach Raquelle- Hey Raquelle. How's it going?
Raquelle === -Reading a magazine- Do you think I can rock this dress?
Christie === -Rolls her eyes-
Ryan === Raquelle... aren't you suppose to be at the boutique today?
Raquelle === I was but after reading this, I had to come and visit Barbie to get the four one one.
Christie === Four one one about what?
Raquelle === Her break-up with Ken of course.
Ryan and Christie === -They look at each other- WHAT??
Raquelle === See for yourself. -she hands Christie the magazine-
Christie === I don't believe this... She didn't mention anything.
Raquelle === Wow... so much for being BFFs right?
Ryan === Raquelle... don't.
Christie === Wait, since when do you care about Barbie like that?
Raquelle === Hello!!! That means Ken is single. I just need her to confirm it for me. I'm going to go see her now. See you kids later. -She leaves the room-
Ryan === Wait... so does that mean Barbie is available too?
Christie === Really Ryan....?
Ryan === What...? I'm just asking.

On the northern end of Bulgo beach (near Otford, NSW) there is a large boulder on the shore line, I thought it lent itself well to a long exposure. :)

Killarney Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. Or perhaps just some trees and some clouds, anywhere at all, really. It was the last day of an extended period of solid overcast, and the cold front winds were starting to break up the clouds, creating some very interesting swirly patterns. Scan of an old print.
I think these are called "Asperatus Clouds" -- see another example of these here: apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap160417.html
"Redux" means I'm revisiting selected pics from a previous series, in order to bring them some personal attention in the post processing that they missed the first time around.
Macro Monday Redux 2015—Favorite Theme of the Year.
I joined MacroMondays on first week of june 2015 with the theme "Mostly White"; I decided for this week simply something before it. My choice is February 23: "Twist", just because I like geometry a lot, and play with shadows.
Small piece made with a Zcorp rapid prototyping 3D printer.
Please see this wonderful Math 3D Gallery

Thank all of you, but specially to the admins for keep going this group so good.

In the lead up to BrickUniverse Louisville in a couple weeks (Jan 19-20th, 2019), a local magazine reached out to interview any local "LEGO artists" that would be displaying, and I guess I fit the bill. I retook some pics of some of my MOC's, and uploading here.
For the Mobile Menagerie (2017), I had added a canopy over the top observation deck and I don't think I ever took a pic of it with that addition (along with the improved wheel hubs), so here it is...
