Always love to see foxes....

Series of five. The sun was out so to walk off yesterday's Christmas dinner I decided to go to the local harbour. I was not expecting to see much as it was quite busy, but a friendly walker told me she had already seen the Kingfisher, so I started looking for it around the outer harbour. While I was looking for it I spotted a red blob on the distant rocks. It was the lovely Red Fox I photographed a few weeks ago. Although it was right out on one of the harbour arms sunning itself the pics are not too bad. Nice Christmas present for me!

This Red Fox was sleeping in the woods. It looks like he is having pleasant dreams.

Seen in the center of town, probably been out all night searching for food. Not 20 feet from the street and not bothered by local traffic.

I know another shot of Mr Fox but why not :)

I've had Voles in my yard for years and finally last year they were gone. I never got to see them just the furrows they ate in the grass and the hole at the end. This image was intentionally left large so you might zoom in on the vole in this Red Fox's mouth.

This one was catching voles in the village.

Occasionally we see a fox in our neighborhood. On this day it laid down in the sun by the storm drain. When it saw me with the big lens it got up.

Fox playing peekaboo back in the springtime.

This fox was hit by a car, as well had mange. It was rescued and lived the remainder of its life in a rehabilitation farm for wild animals. He died last month.

Don't think she didn't study me as I stood there hour after hour. Finally she went about her business and didn't think me a threat.

This is one of 103 saved images out of over 6000 taken. This image makes me wonder just what he was thinking about as I was standing still for over three hours. He left to hunt so I guess he was satisfied that I was no threat.

The red fox has long been one of my favorite animals. The past few winter trips to Yellowstone have yielded relatively few sightings. That was not the case this year. We saw a number of red foxes. I particularly enjoy seeing them in a winter setting.

My mum has got some different foxes visiting the garden this year. This one isn't quite as relaxed as last years however it's a delight to be watching one from 30 feet away.

This Red Fox having his family of 8 - one wife and 6 cubs - in the middle of a city. He is so skinny while his cubs look so well fed... Good dad!!!

Thanks for your comments and faves

a highly cropped image. I think it's one of my favorites from this unique experience.

I guess we interrupted this beautiful fox from his hunting.

2020 has been my best ever year for foxes and this is one of my favourite photos of the year.

I had photographed this huge dog fox at a distance but this was the only time I had him come this close. He was feeding well grown cubs so was forced to hunt during the day.

I watched him for several minutes as he slowly made his way towards me with just the tips of his ears showing above the long grass. When he was in the perfect position I gave a tiny squeak between my teeth and he stopped an lifted his head a few inches.

I toggled the single focus point onto his eye through the gap in the grass and took a single shot, then he slowly disappeared into the hedge and that was the last I saw of him.

I believe this to be the vixen and not the helper now I think you can see her teats retracted now but it is quite hard to tell she's been such a great mum thou I had another shot of her showing more of her belly and can tell its her because of the ears.
