It's actually been over 10 years since I've been treated on occasion to following the foxes of this area. They have a pretty good deal but for a little harassment by the falcons. This one is definitely on the hunt, kids to feed.
Female Red Fox and her kits. I saw 6 kits on this day. Though the mother brought some dead animal, they were too young to eat it and the kits were more interested in their mother's milk. A few days later I heard that three fell sick and was brought to an animal rescue center. Two passed away while one was recovering. The center suspects rat poison, however, that was before the detailed diagnostics.
Series of five. The sun was out so to walk off yesterday's Christmas dinner I decided to go to the local harbour. I was not expecting to see much as it was quite busy, but a friendly walker told me she had already seen the Kingfisher, so I started looking for it around the outer harbour. While I was looking for it I spotted a red blob on the distant rocks. It was the lovely Red Fox I photographed a few weeks ago. Although it was right out on one of the harbour arms sunning itself the pics are not too bad. Nice Christmas present for me!

Another shot from our visit to the Foxes on Thursday, this one from before the rain got going. In fact, we were still setting up when this chance arose.

Here's a treat. Fox with a cliffside ocean view. Yep, that's the Blue Pacific it has for a backdrop.
Spotted this red fox in my backyard again. When I saw them, there were 6 of them about 5-6 weeks ago, and I can see only 3 of them right now.
A red fox kit looks curiously at me :-). I was up on a viewing platform for the ocean and the den was right there! This was the second den I saw today! Both dens are a bit of a drive for my husband and I but totally worth it.
Well, this is a new one for us. Lins heard a ruckus on the front porch last night and we discovered two baby foxes eating Miss Kitty’s food. I got a couple photos, but this is the only one good enough to post. They are adorable, but we’re very concerned for Kitty now. I’m sure the mom was close by.
