Happy new year!!

I started the year off with another run at Iron Forge, the annual seed-part competition run by Simon and Markus. This year, I ended up reaching the top 8/final 4 round, being paired up with the wonderfully talented builder Loke (Byggi). The competition is always such a fun (and intense) way to start off the year, and I'm really glad I competed this year.

Simon convinced me to build a cube for New Hashima in February, and I spent most of February to June just working on my cube for latest iteration the massive cyberpunk cityscape that would debut at Brickworld Chicago later in the year. I'm an incredibly slow builder, so filling up a cube with 3/4 visible, detailed sides was a challenge. As much as I enjoyed the process, it left me pretty burnt out for building for a while.

June rolled around and I took a road trip to Chicago for the second year in a row. This years Brickworld was highlighted by, of course, New Hashima. I spent most of my time at Brickworld this year towards helping set up and assemble the colossal project, and I'm just really thankful to the entire NH family for being so welcoming. I gotta give it up for Jackson, Bove, Brian, Luke, Jonah, and Dan for making Brickworld Chicago so fun this year, along with everyone else I met and reunited with. #YONHO

July meant the Summer Joust! I teamed up, once again, with the wonderful Kit, Dan, and Marc to work on the collab category, scoring our second win in a row. I'm so thankful to have worked with Dan before he left for Peru, and I'm also so excited to work with him and the rest of the team again when he gets back. Thanks to you guys for always being there, I really cherish all the memories we've made over the past few years :)

After the Summer Joust, I really just took a step back from the hobby, keeping up on some personal projects but mostly putting my time towards other things in my life. I'm still around and have a few long-term projects planned, but just at a slower pace than previous years.

Thanks to everyone for making this a wonderful year, and I can't wait to see what we'll do in the future!

(As always I’ve tagged people who’ve inspired me this year)

Here's a gallery of all the lego stuffs I built this year ^^

Seee you in 2014 with other space / cyberpunk / weird mocs

EDIT: what's your fav moc ?

May 24, the Bush Center hosted Engage event, Invictus Games Recap: Honoring Our Wounded Warrior Athletes. ESPN's Jeremy Schaap moderated a panel with President Bush, US Team Captain Will Reynolds, and Competitor Sarah Rudder about the 2016 Invictus Games. Photo by Grant Miller for the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

I wanted to do an inworld photo. I usually don't do anything like this, but I may have to do this more often.

As a software engineer and a hobbyist graphics designer I was terribly disappointed in the #MyFlickrYear highlight card that the Flickr team came up with.

There is so much interesting data stored on this website to draw interesting metrics and conclusions from, but they just went the boring way, repeating what you could mostly check on the stats page anyways.

With that in mind, and with the email linking to my highlight card never arriving in my inbox, I decided to assemble this extended recap of my last year instead.

I also selected my top 25 favourite moments captured in 2021, which you can check out on my profile page or in this album.

To check out all my pictures taken last year, follow this link.

Enjoy!

This was a great show. A large group of fun people, lots of steak, and I even managed to nail my first Brickee.

What a year, a little less mocs than 2022 but much more satisfied.

Let's hope 2024 can be at least on the same level!

The traditional recap for my 2024 year in Lego.

Best wishes to all of you for 2025!

Well Brickfair Virginia 2014 has come to an end and it is bittersweet. I had an absolute blast the entire time but now I am super inspired and have a huge amount of Ideas for builds! These are the builds that I brought this year (Didn't have the time to take individual pictures of each thing before I had to break it all down to put in my suitcase). This year I contributed to Sigma Octanus IV, DEVGRU,and Vault 3. I also helped Cam put SO MANY flowers onto his display that he brought. Thanks to Kevin, I added that build in front to the Cyberpoc display last minute.

Fun fact about that build. The day before I left for Brickfair, Nick (EvilChef) skyped me wanting to make a last minute collab. So I threw this together in an hour and a half (not my best work, but it got the job done) for the 2x2 32stud baseplate collab we discussed. Turns out he didn't make his part... That darn kid! haha So Kevin mentioned Cyberpoc needed some more green tile water baseplates and we put that onto it :P

I had an awesome time hanging out and trading with everyone (Codey, Gage, Jeremy, Leo, Sean, Nick(Spartan-N912), Nick(Evil Chef), Alex, Evan(Iris), Kevin, Mike, Forest, Miles, Ian, James, Chris(HighonBricks), Jacob, and a whole BUNCH more) I am forgetting a lot of people because I met so many. Comment and add yourself if we shared a moment this week..

A huge thank you to Codey, Jeremy, Gage and Leo for letting me crash in their room Friday night so I didn't have to make the hour and a half drive from where I was staying this past week. Gone Forever. Aaron Fernandez.

Another huge thank you to Julie and Will for letting me work the Booth on the Public days! You both rock and it was awesome talking and hanging out with you this convention!

On a different note, I need to raise money. Sadly, my dad left his Ipad mini (pimped out with an otter box) on the plane on the trip home. Still waiting to hear back if it has been found, but I highly doubt it. FM me if you want to buy stuff from me, I have some AMA, Brickarms Prototypes, and well... lots of 3rd party items, just ask and I will tell you what I have. I also have lots of other lego pieces including Star Wars Figures, Harry potter figures, well you get the gist. If worse comes to worse, I will sell part of my Shotgun Shells collection.. Just FM me!

EDIT: IPAD HAS BEEN FOUND

Anyways, I'll end this with saying, I have many ideas for builds, so expect stuff very soon! I'll have a tag picture up soon as well so you all can know a little more about me :P

A simple picture to show this dress properly. I checked and its been some time since I modelled (!!! lol really) this dress> So many of you who don't trawl through photostreams may not have seen it before.

I'm reviewing in detail the 8 dolls from the 2023 Integrity Toys Dolly Fridays Event.

XTerra news first. The model was very well received by the public, lots of people recognized it and even more took pictures of it. It ended up winning "Most Complicated Technic", making that the fourth time I've won that award. Apparently someone wanted to make an offer for it too, but I wasn't around the model at that moment. Exciting. :)

Aside from the model, the convention itself was a blast. Got to hang out with Austin Harper (www.flickr.com/photos/wachutuchief/) and Alexander Holroyd (www.youtube.com/aeh5040), both awesome builders. We brainstormed a few collaborative builds that might be built at some point in the future...maybe after I finish the other 20 models I want to build. I also managed to pick up a few older LEGO Technic sets, namely 8466 Extreme Offroader, 8674 1/8 Ferrari F1, and 8009 R2-D2. 8466 and 8674 are most likely going to be disassembled for parts, but I've got plans to motorize R2. Gotta finish that other model first though....
