After many years of struggle against the elements and people full of envy, Captain Redbeard decided to settle down in Pirate Lagoon. He bought a cozy blue tenement house, located right next to the port authority building.

This ship is bio-tech ship made by the Yuuzhan Vong. Mainly used during the Yuuzhan Vong War/Invasion (New Jedi Order era) these living ships would be crewed by a single pilot using a hood to share minds with the creature/ship. It eats rocks and spits magma-like projectiles. It was propelled and shielded by a small heart-like Dovin basal.

Malboro is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, sometimes also known as the Molbol, Morbol, or Mad Oscar. It is a large, green, tentacled plant-like creature, with an anemone-like head and large mouth lined with sharp teeth. It is renowned for its dreaded Bad Breath attack, which can inflict many status effects on its targets, crippling unprotected parties. The Malboro has ranked among the more iconic and difficult enemies in the series.

This LEGO version is built to be roughly minifigure scale. As it has appeared in many games over the decades it has had many different designs. The vast majority are fairly similar and so this is designed as a generic version rather than one from a particular game.

My first entry into the series was with Final Fantasy X. I had not really played RPGs before let alone JRPGs. When I first encountered the Malboro it was an incredibly hard battle and I was very relieved once I had finally won. Yet they were showing up in random encounters over and over and I just could not take it. Turns out while I was using the Sphere Grid I apparently wasn't actually leveling up my characters. In my ignorance I had gone through a decent chunk of the game with little to no leveling up of my party. I had been enamored by the story and world and kept pushing through, yet also was extremely frustrated at how hard the game was. Turns out a lot of the difficulty was my own fault. Once I figured this out I leveled up my party and from then on it was a much more balance game. Final Fantasy X is one of my favorites and I highly recommend it, but definitely make sure you level up your characters...

My finalized first attempt at a BARC Speeder.

Building instructions are available here! Check out for more details!

It's been a while since the WIP pic of this speeder along with my, still WIP, AT-RT v3, but here we are. I'm quite happy with this final design (for now).

It is a mere hair (literally. it's like less than 1/8 a plate.) away from perfect 1:35th scale in length and height. The engines are technically slighty wider than they should be, but given a minifig is equally wider than it should be in proportion to its height, I think this is totally acceptable.

I will try to eventually acquire the necessary pieces for a dark red/white version, like the digital recolor seen in the instructions post, and build said accurate colored version phyically as well. Not a priority investment for me right now though, so this may take a while.

If you like this MOC and want to build it yourself, consider getting your hands on some instructions (supports the grind).

Built Originally for Lego's 90th anniversary Bionicle contest, altho the design started way earlier.

Echoes from the time before time. The prophecy of the six heroes is born anew. A breath of fresh air blows through the jungles of Mata Nui.

Built from approximately 80% Lego system, 15% Technic, and using the original Bionicle head piece and mask, the Kanohi Miru, totalling 363 parts.

Increased limb articulation, with shoulders, knees and elbows. With slight mobility for the waist. The gearbox function has been faithfully recreated with increased friction.

Quality renders achieved with Blender, built in stud.io using only pre-existing parts and colors. Build has been tested for viability using a real-life model.

(I will answer questions regarding possible instructions after the contest is over).

It has been exactly a year and one day since my last Lego post, so coming back into it with a tribute to one of my favorite pieces of musical gear.

The Moog Sub Phatty is a monophonic (1-voice) analog synthesizer capable of some pretty fat, sub sounds. Has a 25-key keyboard and 31 knobs for shaping the overall sound. The big knob in the model controls the low-pass filter, which gives most Moog synthesizers their famous signature sound.

Reactor 5 is one of the eight mako reactors built by the Shinra Electric Power Company to power the metropolis of Midgar. It also doubles as an artillery development plant. It housed the Airbuster, a large prototype mobile weapons platform being developed by the Advanced Weaponry Division of the Shinra Electric Power Company. Sweeper and Cutter mechs were used in conjunction with Shinra soldiers to guard the facility.

The TIE/D Defender is an advanced experimental TIE starfighter from Sienar Fleet Systems, armed to the teeth with four laser cannons, two ion cannons, two warhead launchers, and a hyperdrive. It's know for it's agility and ferocity both in looks and performance.

This UCS-style TIE Defender is mini-fig scale and is based on the most common depictions of the defender in various sources. The model features a cockpit with controls that can seat a tie pilot. The bottom hatch opens for the restocking of missiles, maintenance, and refueling the hyperdrive. The top hatch also opens as does the front (pilot is put in through the front). The focus on accuracy and aesthetics means this is a delicate display model not for play. To the best of my knowledge, doesn't use any illegal techniques which would stress pieces.
