Sunlight breaking through the shade and nailing the clematis stamens perfectly.
Clematis - 'Sodertalje'. For some reason this particular variety can change it's colour tones quite considerably over a season, from pinkish magenta to full bluish purple.

PS: There is one thing I don't like about this photo... the use of pesticides. I prefer organic, ecological and sustainable crops. Pesticides kill insects. If the insects die, the birds have no food. And every day that passes, there are fewer birds... simply because there are no insects. The only species that is a plague on Earth... is humans.
PS: And as explained in ecology and ecosystems or the same words of the best ecologist, oceanographer and limnologist, Ramón Margalef... no plague can survive. Sooner or later... all the plagues, they finish and they are extinguished.

Great Egrets are lovely at any time of year but particularly when they grow their long and lacy breeding feathers and their lores, the colorful area between the bill and eyes, turns a bright green. This lovely lady was waiting in her nest, posing for a picture. For whatever reason, I decided to play with the background and added a yellow glow around her body and then superimposed some clouds from one of my stock sky pictures. (Enjoy this scientific name: Casmerodius albus. I just like saying it.)
In 1969 John Denver released the new album called, Rhymes and Reasons and the song from this album with the same name written to children of the whole world.....I remember hearing it for the very first time and I had tears in my eyes even back than as I have now......
And the proof that some of the greatest things and inspirations happen while you shower,lol....Yes, just listen to what John Denver says here.

Today, I've got a floral tribute for You.
When I passed this bush in the summer (in fact I was just on my way back to the car) suddenly Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave started to sing inside of my head. They still do it, every time I am watching this photograph. This was the decisive factor for the titel and the main reason, why I finally stopped there.

Als ich im Sommer an diesem Busch vorbei kam (eigentlich war ich auf dem Weg zurück zum Auto) fingen plötzlich Kylie Minogue und Nick Cave in meinem Kopf an zu singen. Sie tun dies bis heute, sobald ich das Foto betrachte. Das war der ausschlaggebende Punkt für den Titel und dafür, dass ich überhaupt stehen geblieben bin.

One of the main reasons we stayed overnight at the Racetrack Playa was so that we could attempt to shoot the Milky Way. After the sun went down it started to get extremely cold and my hands lost dexterity and feeling. I couldn't operate the camera. I was so distracted by the cold I forgot to remove the neutral density filter from my lens. I couldn't figure out what was keeping me from getting the stars to show up in my images. Also I kept accidently flashing my red head lamp toward the "sailing rock" in the foreground. Finally we packed up and went back to the tent.
I did get a couple of star shots but I was not happy with them. So I decided I would use one of the Luminar night skies. This is sort of what of what I had in mind when we set out to shoot the stars.

The main reason for this long series of Xmas tree balls and lights is to practice and evaluate the quality of the bokeh of some of my vintage lenses. They can picture sometimes very pleasing backgrounds.

One of the main reasons for making an early morning trip over to Fishercap Lake from the Many Glacier Hotel was the mirror-like reflection that is often found on mornings with little to no wind. As the wind was still howling the night night before, we were very relieved to find that the wind had disappeared by the time we met at 5:30 AM and after shooting Swiftcurrent, we made a beeline to Fishercap and arrived just as the light was beginning to warm up. It was an incredible morning as there were stunning views in every direction and I had to continuously divide my attention between the moose, (I still want to say "Mooses" or "Meese" but apparently neither is correct for some reason) and the deer who kept wandering into my frame. Fishercap is often overlooked as the surrounding peaks and lakes are stunning, but if you find yourself in the Many Glacier Hotel at some point in the future, you might want to make a quick trip over there during the early morning hours for the wildlife and some stunning early morning views.

X is the Australian rock band INXS's seventh studio album, released on 25 September 1990. The title, the Roman numeral for "10", represents the band's tenth year since their debut album was released in 1980.

One of my all-time favorite bands. I had the pleasure of saw them live several times and their concerts in Mexico for the X-tour gave our country the opportunity of world-class concerts. I had the chance of meet the band before the '94 concert in Mexico, and it made me so sad the tragic loss of Michael Hutchcence.
