"In the Winter of 2010, Stephen looked to expand his musical horizons as Pushing Reality, aspiring to write music for a film. He found a solution in "Annahme", a student short film produced by Chapman University undergrad Brian Rechenmacher. The film already had a generic temp score in place, and Stephen asked Brian if he could take a stab at writing original music for it, to which he handed over the film. After a couple weeks of demoing ideas, Stephen finally settled on the utilization of three instruments (guitar, strings, and piano) for three pieces. The result came about from looking to unify the overall sound by using the same instrumentation, but making each piece different from the others in terms of tone and emotion.
