Il Grande Fratello è un reality show trasmesso in Italia su Canale 5 dal 2000, prodotto dalla Endemol e basato sul format olandese Big Brother. I protagonisti del reality sono persone sconosciute o semi-sconosciute al pubblico equamente divise tra uomini e donne di varia estrazione sociale e collocazione geografica, le quali condividono la vita quotidiana sotto lo stesso tetto spiati 24 ore su 24 da una serie di telecamere.
Il titolo s'ispira all'omonimo personaggio del romanzo 1984 di George Orwell, leader dello stato totalitario di Oceania che attraverso le telecamere sorveglia costantemente e reprime il libero arbitrio dei suoi cittadini. Lo slogan del libro "Il Grande Fratello vi guarda" si attaglia al meccanismo del programma televisivo, nel quale gli autori della trasmissione (il Grande Fratello appunto) hanno il controllo della situazione nella Casa.

For the 2018 Brighton Digital Festival, Lighthouse presented selected works from the Sheffield Doc/Fest Alternate Realities exhibition, which premiered at the internationally renowned documentary festival in June 2018.
Exploring the themes of borders, identity, and loss, the works each showed how immersive and interactive technologies enable us to interpret and engage with socio-political infrastructures, storytelling and the interface of physical and digital worlds. Each work used a different technological platform to explore the ideas – gaming, AR, social media and interactive installation.
