It started off as reeds and grasses reflected in a pond but then I went a bit mad with the sliders and ended up with this!!!

Having grown up in south Florida, you know, really not knowing what winter was, I truly appreciate experiencing it. Stepping way out of my comfort zone on this one. The starkness of winter, frigid temperatures and atmospheric fog and all, I found this image intriguing, so I snapped away a few. It pretty much sums up the harsh reality of winter within Yellowstone. I love the isolation of being out there at these moments ... as long as I have a warm snow coach waiting for me. LOL

You know how you sometimes see a movie behind the scenes interview and run through of a movie, the actor's and crew going through a scene, and how everything seems so fake. Then always amazed to then see the finished scene. The night scene shot with lots of light, and then in post it's all turned into the movie we see.
Well this is my version of that. My brother is standing about where I was when I took the picture in the prior posting. If you look beyond him you can see a pipe that was edited out of my shot. This shot isn't SOOC either, I actually desaturated it and did a few other things to give it post edit look.
So here's my behind the scenes photoshoot with my brother. So much fun.
Oh, almost forgot, my camera settings are the same for both shots. The reality is probably somewhere between these two shots.

I spent the weekend in Aberdeen, WA, and I ended up photographing quite a few abandoned places with the homeless in my frames. I don't enjoy photographing the homeless, but I do think it's a story in the midst of the state of our environment. I feel for them. Becoming homeless could happen to anyone.
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”

Hhmmm... There seem to be more flamingo reflections in the water than in reality on land. :)
Have a fantastic day, everyone...
For the start of a brand new 2026, the stark reminder life is short and many will not see 2027, enjoy the family and friends today and make the most of today!

Art is not a reflection of reality, it is the reality of a reflection.

When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.
