Real Pirates is on display at HMNS from Oct. 8, 2010 - Feb. 6, 2011 - It's the first exhibition of an authenticated pirate shipwreck - ever. Walk-through a recreation of the Whydah, a pirate ship that sank in 1717, and marvel at fascinating artifacts from the wreck - including real pirate treasure, cannons, swords, and pistols along with the ship's massive bell.
Thanks to Erin Flis for arranging the meetup and to HMNS and National Geographic for the opportunity to view and photgraph this great exhibit.
So these guys brag about their cars having 250-300 horsepower - see that black thing? That's a Packard Merlin supercharged V-12 engine (designed by Rolls-Royce). 1,695 hp. One thousand, six hundred, ninety-five horsepower.
Merlins powered several of the best aircraft of World War II - British Spitfires, Mosquito fighter-bombers, and Lancaster heavy bombers, and last (but certainly not least), the American P-51 Mustang (shown).
If you want something done right, do it yourself. I've been looking for camo covers and rain-proofing for my camera gear and haven't founf anything that really matches what I own. I broke down and bought a sewing machine and ordered some weatherproof fabric and have been teaching myself to sew. Started off with the tripod, next are covers for the lens and cameras.
