We reached our holiday home around 3pm on Saturday. First job was to clear up Lina's vomit from the car, and then explore
the house! This is the view towards the town, from the bathroom window, out the front of the house. I had to stand on tiptoes to take the photo, as the window was high!
In the clear cold morning air and trailing nicely at 35,000 feet overhead Southern England this US Air Force Air Mobility Command's Boeing C-17A Globemaster III 02-1100 unusually took a track further South than normal whilst heading into Europe
Using call-sign 'Reach 512' it may well have been in connection with 'The Donald's' visit to Davos that day
The vast majority of such flights normally route from Bristol area turning way North of London via Oxford, Peterborough, Kings Lynn before turning again over Marham in Norfolk for Europe
When on POTUS duties, these C-17's along with giant C-5 Galaxy transports are tasked with transporting the Presidential Helicopters, his armoured cars and his 'Blood' wagon wherever the main man goes

"Discovering a place I use to be; was it a mental space or a physical? I cannot remember. Being there lead to mental anguish, yet today it’s different. I see it in an uncommon light, the veil has been lifted; It’s a new day, a brand new life to seek, another life to be born. Life is within reach, I say to myself, if I want it, then I must reach out and grab it."

i have the feeling that flickr has subtly changed their upload algorithm. seems like they have increased the sharpness. i had to upload a couple of versions of this to get it right. this was also evident in my last post that ended up with more grain than i designed, but i liked that result. has anyone noticed anything similar?

Having to think about your future is scary, as everyone has gone threw. So I guess my jumping made me think of reaching which makes me think about goals and dreams.
I hope that makes sense. :)

Young visitor at the "Alter Nature: We can" exhibition at Museum Z33 in Hasselt, Belgium.
Alter Nature: We Can shows the work of 20 international contemporary artists and designers. The exhibition focuses on the different ways in which people have displaced, manipulated or designed nature: from small gardens to private islands, from carrots and bonsai trees to acoustic plants and orange pheasants.

Red-Tailed Hawk
Buteo jamaicensis
Drove up a hill to Crane Creek Regional Park as the sun set and happened upon this large hawk, perched and staring out. After the hawk took off, a scrub jay flew up to the perch and stole the show. Couldn't believe the shots I was getting in such gorgeous light. Hope you enjoy.
Thank you for your views, faves and comments. Deeply appreciated.
This is Tom Waits performing his 'Glitter and Doom' tour at the Edinburgh Playhouse in July.
I had the good fortune to be assigned to shoot this gig for The Scotsman (for which...as so often since...my thanks are due to Alex Hewitt).
This is a reworked version of a shot I've previously posted. Just to add confusion, it was a black and white version of my previously posted colour shot that appeared in The Scotsman. Here, I've done my own conversion and cropped to remove the spotlight.
My previously posted version is here:
You can see my other posted pics from this gig in my Tom Waits set.
