Swabische Alb im Hintergrund

This Photo shows the same view at a much faster shutter speed to freeze the movement of the cars, so that I could experiment with a star filter.

I saw this strange looking step van with a Isuzu-esque grille. Upon closer inspection, it had a badge on the side that read Powered by Isuzu. The grille reminded me of the US only SUV that we never got up here. Assender, I think it was.

Does anyone know more about this obscure looking work horse?

Like, were they common and were they only sold in the US or Canada too?

The trees here seem to reach toward each other.

Love is a lie.

something that can always catch your eye

lost in translation

something to make a move at inspiration

to love is to love lost

but love is free of cost

love is a word of free

why cant we all say with a voice of glee?

had a lot of fun taking this picture.

we have a bunch of other options but this one seemed to pop to my eye at first glance.

Ever feel like you're reaching in all directions, like a massive tree, just waiting to catch the right moment?

This shot was taken at Salvation Mountain, a mountain that was created and painted by a man with a vision and slowly over time turned into a masterpiece. Located in Niland, which is a town on the South Eastern edge of the Salton Sea, we found this place by a tip from the motel owner. He told us many people come to Niland just to see it, we had no idea it existed.

Well... we sure know now!

Big tip for travelers, especially in remote areas, ask the motel owner what's around. They usually know the town better than anyone.

We reached our holiday home around 3pm on Saturday. First job was to clear up Lina's vomit from the car, and then explore

the house! This is the view towards the town, from the bathroom window, out the front of the house. I had to stand on tiptoes to take the photo, as the window was high!

In the clear cold morning air and trailing nicely at 35,000 feet overhead Southern England this US Air Force Air Mobility Command's Boeing C-17A Globemaster III 02-1100 unusually took a track further South than normal whilst heading into Europe

Using call-sign 'Reach 512' it may well have been in connection with 'The Donald's' visit to Davos that day

The vast majority of such flights normally route from Bristol area turning way North of London via Oxford, Peterborough, Kings Lynn before turning again over Marham in Norfolk for Europe

When on POTUS duties, these C-17's along with giant C-5 Galaxy transports are tasked with transporting the Presidential Helicopters, his armoured cars and his 'Blood' wagon wherever the main man goes

Once I reached Stevens Point any semblance of decent morning light was gone. Harsh mid-day July sun was firmly in charge, so I got a little lunch and leisurely made my way east with plenty of sidetracks to look around areas I'd previously ignored. There is some interesting stuff to see at Waupaca so I made my way across town to check it out. They have some neat equipment on display around the depot. I was a little early to see the inside but grabbed a photo of this nice DM&IR caboose on display on the south side of the tracks next to the freight house. July 20, 2024.

"Discovering a place I use to be; was it a mental space or a physical? I cannot remember. Being there lead to mental anguish, yet today it’s different. I see it in an uncommon light, the veil has been lifted; It’s a new day, a brand new life to seek, another life to be born. Life is within reach, I say to myself, if I want it, then I must reach out and grab it."

i have the feeling that flickr has subtly changed their upload algorithm. seems like they have increased the sharpness. i had to upload a couple of versions of this to get it right. this was also evident in my last post that ended up with more grain than i designed, but i liked that result. has anyone noticed anything similar?
