A collection of photographs taken by my father of Sierra Leone, from 1970 -1973. The collection includes flowers, plants, landscapes, seascapes, people, friends and family. A nice memento from that era.

Last November 26, 2016 the Junior High School students had their recollection activity. The purpose of a recollection activity is to refresh and revitalize the mind and soul of the students for them to be once again in tune and further deepen with their relationship with God. This is achieved through relatable lectures and thought provoking activities that help the students reflect and contemplate on how they are making and breaking the teachings of Jesus in their lives and how they can bring that love back to their families. The activity ends with a confession and a thanks giving mass.

1913 postmarked postcard view overlooking Washington Park at Michigan City, Indiana. The east pier and lighthouse were just off shore. The roller coaster and buildings at Washington Park were clearly visible near the lake shore at the center of this scene.

1911 postmarked postcard view of a large crowd and racing balloons at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana. Balloon races were held in the infield in 1909 and 1910. In fact, the 1909 race was the inaugural event at the new facility. This was the infield. Automobiles were parked among the large crowd gathered to watch the event. The sign near the center of the view announced AUTOMOBILE PARK STAND.

c1908 postcard view of the old Dubois County Court House in Jasper, Indiana. A new court house was opened in 1911. The monument is the Dubois County Civil War Memorial. A single business sign is visible in the background. I was unable to read the name, but someone with knowledge of local history can probably determine what it says. I believe the building with the sign is located on the northwest corner of Main Street at the public square. The 1909 Sanborn maps for Jasper indicate a saloon and a residence in that building with a meeting hall on the second floor.

She chokes back the tears that form in eyes, as recollections materialize and she thinks of how her life might have turned out. A road she walks alone these days, progress halted by the maze of twisting avenues that scream and shout.

Memories tease and haunt her so, she wants to stay but has to go, her world has not turned out the way she planned.

And she can run and she can hide from all the fear she holds inside, but she'll never lose the truth within her soul. She believes in right and wrong, of the melodies and songs that remind her of her youth and all her goals.

She counts the lovers in her past, resurrecting dreams that didn't last and she wipes the water pooling in her eyes. At which point did the world fall down, now her smile has turned into a frown, did the darkness of reality surprise?

Memories tease and haunt her so, so little learned so much to know, and now regret it cuts her like a knife.

Well she can run and she can hide from all the pain she feels inside, but she'll never lose the love within her heart. She believes in right from wrong, of those melodies and songs that remind her of a fresh start.

And in the mirror she's reminded.......

The Howard Shipyards and Dock Co. in Jeffersonville, Indiana, built this steamboat and launched it in 1894. FULL CIRCLE

For my entry into the Lulubell Toys (Re)collections show, I created a triptych recreating my first experiment from 1979 where I attempted to make a mold of a Greedo figure out of a bar of soap and cast it in green crayon. I contrasted that experiment by displaying the molds and figure of my Green Man Syndrome release. A bootleg Greedo figure I made over thirty years after that first try as a child.

- Ja!.lo miro ella mientras sonreia sarcástica y termino: MI ESENCIA APESTA A TABACO, CADA CIGARRILLO ES ANCIEDAD, DE VIVIR, DE MORIR, DE ESCUCHAR TIPOS COMO TU QUE VIVEN EN UNA BOLA DE CRISTAL, LLENOS DE SUCIOS RECUERDOS.

En segundos ella volvió al presente ahumado, con la única compañía de un cigarrillo a punto de terminar y unos pocos segundos de vida.

Pittsburgh Recollections was designed by Romare Bearden and was installed in the original Gateway Center subway station in 1984.

When construction began on extending the line in 2009, Gateway Center Station was closed. The mural was disassembled piece-by-piece and re-installed in the new station. It was an expensive project, but at the time the mural was valued at $15 million.

I walked for miles, or so it seemed, but never saw your face

As whispered voice, you called to me, my heart and soul gave chase

Memories many fold and pain, not thinking you were gone

The darkness of this life of mine where happiness once shone

The forest beckoned me within the warmth of her embrace

As limb-like branches danced and swayed with elegance and grace

My name was called on softened lips, your voice inside my mind

Lost completely, breathing hard, a chance your face to find

As lovers young and foolish here, entwined our limbs they fell

The trees our watchful guardians with secrets not to tell

I miss your smile, your smell, your touch, the way you stroked your hair

Lonely nights in tear stained sheets wishing you were there

Resting in the very spot where love for you proclaimed

Years have passed, a broken fence and memories remain

You lay within my arms as we declared our souls would never part

And now I mourn your loss within this wounded, broken heart

If I could turn back time itself, to hold you one more time

I'd trade my life, my very soul to feel your lips on mine

A battered man emotionally, I'm crippled by my grief

Let Reaper know, the Devil too, in death there's no relief

The trees like moments from my past, bring joy within and pain

I long to feel your soft pale flesh within my arms again

A part of me has died within no matter how I try

Without the one who made me whole, a broken man I cry

I'll stay within the forest till the darkness claims the land

And dream of times we two in love, walked gaily hand in hand

Façade and smiles I'll wear for you and listen for your voice

The void is deep though life goes on, for me there is no choice

My love for you burns brightly in the confines of my heart

As strong as these tall oaks and all the beauty they impart

This forest is a shrine to all the happy times we had

I miss you now, and always shall, within this heart I'm sad

"When I was young and full of life..

When I was a kid, we didn't have that many round stairways.

Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing any.

But I should have seen them coming.

The building I lived in, had a square stairway with a ten stair run and then they make a 90 degree left-hand turn and up, and then they repeat again. Right-hand if you were going down, all depending if you were coming home or going out to a movie or such.

Eventually, some wise-guy was bound to say: Hey! let's cut out the corners.

His name could have been Alfred. Or Fred, for short.

I don't see him as being a Sidney or a Cecil - it takes a man of vision.

The whole crew would sit down and have a brain-storming session, whereupon they would get into that non-linear thinking stuff. Which I could never figure out. I had tried non-linear once when I had run out of gas. Out on the Prairies.

Didn't work for me.
