Has anyone seen the movie "Pay it Forward"? It's based on the same idea. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it highly.
This is a red anenome from my garden. I added about 4 or 5 textures to it, LOL! Hope you like seeing this little bit of Spring color.
As part of a Facebook group called FLOOD the streets with ART I dropped this print off at the local grocery store by their Redbox machine. The group is about giving away free art today, making a statement against Black Friday and corporate greed, and doing a random act of kindness while filing the world with art. I hope somebody takes this piece and gives it a nice home.
A local church drew a small crowd by setting up on a corner and giving away free hot dogs, chips and drinks..
i saw this particular piece when it was fresh. the owners have tried to scrub it, to no avail. love cannot be silenced!

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ...
Kroger Store Co-Manager Al Landio Today my faith in the goodness of mankind grew a bit. I was shopping at my local Kroger for a bunch of groceries, and household items that we were out of (including tonight's dinner). Things were taking longer than they should, my 2 yo was getting tired, & grouchy, & I'm realizing how pressed for time I am.
I finally make it to the checkout line, only to realize to my horror that I had left my wallet in my purse, and I had brought my diaper bag. I've been in this sitch before. I know the drill. "Ma'am, we will be happy to suspend your order, while you run home to get your wallet." That's all well & good, but I have no time for that. Instead something totally unexpected happened. The manager came up, & said, "Ma'am. I see you in here all the time. Go ahead & go with the groceries. I'll hold your receipt, next time you come in, ask for me, & you can pay then."
This man has know idea how this small act of trust & kindness made my day so much better. Trying to think of a way to thank him. #randomactsofkindness
The University of Miami offers many Clubs and Organizations that inform students of events and issues going on.
In late March, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra teamed up with WXIA (Channel 11) for one of their “Random Acts of Kindness.” Reporter Randy Waters surprised Miranda Cantrell, an accomplished high school senior who will be attending college on a basketball scholarship, with a special trip to Atlanta Symphony Hall.
Notre Dame Elementary School is performing 18 random acts of kindness to show their appreciation for all that is done for them in their community and school. Mrs. Jennifer Wachobw's (left) kindergarten class made a poster which was presented to Chardon Library Manager Judi Smith (right) , stating that the Chardon Public Library is #2 on their list. Way to pay it forward!
The girls & I had some fun at the Dollar Store. One of the things we did was anonymously leave a couple $1 bills in random places for people to find.(My friend Susan & I did this as part of 37 Random Acts of Kindness the year I turned 37. So much fun!)
One mother with a child found the dollar hiding in this picture--in a Minions container. She turned it in to store management who said, "Wow, that's interesting. Hopefully someone claims it!"
(Are you serious, people?! We can't even succeed at a random act of kindness??) Next time we will have to attach a note that says "Finders Keepers". Lesson learned I guess? #RAK #randomactsofkindnessfail #randomactsofkindness #actsofkindness #dollarstore #summerfun #onedollar
What a beautiful day to celebrate!
Be kind to others. Your unassuming act of kindness might become someone's memory of a lifetime.
And so it was when my grand-daughter Alaina gave me this heart that she had cut out. I carried it in my pocket and touched it daily until it became tattered and torn, and I will never forget that day when she gave it to me.

in what I can only assume is a continuation from my encounter with a local homeless guy last week (ref #randomconversationswithstrangers post below), my inner-grinch has been given a most surprising hug. woke this morning to find a white carrier bag outside the bus with these inside. maybe they're not from him, maybe some other modern day St Nicholas dropped them off, I dunno. but it's an incredibly beautiful gesture and I'm seriously touched. happy merries, whatever you (do or don't) believe in, whoever you're with (or not with) and wherever you are in the world. love from a slighly less grinchy grinch x
