Had one more image to share from the inside of the "Cathedral of the Incarnation", this time looking out to the towering rear exit of the church. This shot was captured with a wide angle lens to help further accentuate the high walls and soaring ceiling of this beautiful cathedral.

"Raising the Roof" is a vertical HDR panorama image constructed from 20 bracketed shots using a 1 stop differential. The shot was processed in ACR, tone mapped w/ Aurora HDR, and stitched together / finished in Photoshop.
PS processing also includes the use of Topaz Labs plugins -- Adjust, Denoise AI, Glow, and Impression.

Raise: After doing research into the history of the building, brothers Lester and Norman Coloma, wanted to honour the family owned and operated furniture manufacturer that once occupied this space. They painted labourers working hard to “lift a hammer”, symbolizing the grit and determination of Hamiltonians.

We met this snowshoe hare at the Cabin Creek Cabin, foraging in the same place as last year. It's pretty tolerant of humans who keep their distance; after all, it lives near a backcountry ranger cabin.
After the Olean invasion of Terraversa, all over the country Terraversans are flocking to the defence of their homeland.
The militia are a mixture of hardened veterans of the War of Independence and younger new comers. Most wear old homespun jackets in dull and neutral colours. Nicknamed the ‘Brown Coats’ you won’t find these men fighting in neat lines and marching with perfect timing. Expert marksmen with years of experience in the local environment, they will resist the vile invaders with the same ferocity they demonstrated overthrowing Marderian tyranny.
In this scene; so typical on the outskirts of Westface these days, a veteran militiaman says goodbye to his wife and daughter. His daughter hands him his tricorne, which she has decorated with a white swan feather for good luck. It is a poignant moment and she fervently entreats the Gods to return her father to her safely.
Meanwhile, the company officer (who coincidently is the militiaman’s brother-in-law) waits with other militiamen and Atwi allies. He has another eight farmsteads to visit today, before proceeding into Westface for further orders.
Right as she raised her face off the sidewalk to look up at me the sun broke out from behind a cloud. Then with a very calm and coherent voice she answered, "Yes I am fine. I am resting here waiting for the train to pass." Then she resumed her nap and the sun went away again.

Raising the sails on the C.A. Thayer at the Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco.
The Thayer was rechristened on August 20, 2016 after the second phase of restoration which involved installing new masts and rigging.
An eerie expanse of raised peat bog surrounded by Birch and Scots Pine make this National Nature Reserve rich in plant, insect and bird species. Listen for cuckoo calls and woodpeckers knocking in the woods and look out for adders basking in the sun.
In spring watch out for telltale movements in the grass and heather that signals an Adder or Common Lizard, or see them basking in the sunlight in the early morning. However summer is probably the best time to visit, Common Cotton Grass creates a sea of white across the bog spotted with the delicate bell-shaped pink flowers of the Bog Rosemary. Butterflies like the colourful Peacock and Green Hairstreak flutter in sunny sheltered glades, and colourful dragonflies and damselflies fly low over bog pools. Also keep an eye (and ear) out for Nightjar which may be making their way back to Kirkconnell Flow after a long absence.
To reach the Reserve, take the A710 New Abbey road out of Dumfries. Passing the entrance to Mabie Forest which lies on a sharp left hand bend, take the next turning left between two white pillars. This is Kirkconnell Avenue. The Reserve entrance is 200 m on the left.
I know this is not the best evening flight shot but for the Nikon Coolpix B700 it is as good as it gets, the sun has set, aperture is set to 5.6 and the ISO 3200 to squeeze out a 160 shutter speed, Today the Inspire Me Thursday goes to this little camera. The geese are waiting for that last light to leave and fly to roost on the river. I know they are about to leave out, they are swimming to formation, they are cackling to each other, they are raising and flapping, they are honking in excitement then boom they take flight all in a group.

The eastern great egret (Ardea alba modesta), a white heron in the genus Ardea, is usually considered a subspecies of the great egret (A. alba). In New Zealand it is known as the white heron or by its Māori name kōtuku. Measuring 83–103 cm in length and weighing 0.7–1.2 kg, the eastern great egret is a large heron with all-white plumage. Its bill is black in the breeding season and yellow at other times, and its long legs are red or black. The colours of the bare parts of the face change to green during the breeding season. The breeding plumage is also marked by long neck plumes and a green facial area. The eastern great egret can be distinguished from other white egrets and herons in Asia and Australia by its very long neck, one and a half times as long as its own body. The eastern great egret has a wide distribution throughout Asia and Oceania, with breeding populations in Australia, Bangladesh, China, Nepal, India, Indochina, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Russia (north-eastern), Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The egret breeds across Australia but only rarely in the southwest of the continent or dry interior. The largest colonies within Australia are in the Top End and Channel Country, which can number several thousand pairs. Colonies in the southeast of Australia can number several hundred pairs. The bird is an uncommon autumn and winter visitor to Tasmania. The diet includes vertebrates such as fish, frogs, small reptiles, small birds and rodents, and invertebrates such as insects, crustaceans, and molluscs. The eastern great egret hunts by wading or standing still in shallow water and spearing prey with its bill. The eastern great egret often breeds in colonies with other herons, egrets, cormorants, spoonbills and ibises. One brood is raised a year, although the breeding season varies within Australia. In the north of the country it is in March to May, in southern and central Queensland December and January, and October to December in the south. Located atop trees at a height of 20 m or more, the nest is a flat wide platform of dry branches and sticks with a shallow basin for eggs and young. The clutch consists of anywhere from two to six pale blue-green eggs, with three or four being the usual number. They are oval in shape and measure 52 x 36 mm.
