its always a big deal for us when it rains, especially when its so much so quickly. flipping through the channels, its nothing but freeway closures, accidents, flooding, visible water in the la river(!)... seems like a great opportunity to go out and get some shots... but i did mention earlier about all the freeway closures (damn!) so i'm forced to just take a shot in my backyard for the obligatory rain shot. this shot makes me wish i had a macro lens...
But if I cant swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the thrashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up
I walked about 6 miles around Glasgow today in search of a battery for a vintage camera that I have. Turns out that nobody makes such a battery anymore so Im going to have to take the camera into one of the shops I visited and get the man to try out lots of different batteries until we find the one that works. On my walk it began to pour, usually I would have some coffee in a cafe until the rain goes off but since I'm saving up for traveling this little expense seemed unnecessary so I got very very wet...

Us as a family stargazing! We saw countless stars, the Milky Way, satellites, and more! Pic taken from around the Union Valley Reservoir, at the Wolf Creek Campground side. This was during our annual family camping trip here. (Tuesday evening, July 21, 2015; 10:20 p.m.)
Summary of our annual family camping trip:
It was finally that time of year again! This year, we went to Wolf Creek Campground located around the Union Valley Reservoir in the Eldorado National Forest. Our camping trip was from July 19-22, 2015. We went at a (perfect) time when t-storms were forecasted for the Sierra Nevada mountain range! Afternoon t-storms have drifted into the region, offering some of us a rare moment to swim in the lake in the rain! Swimming in the lake...while all you hear is occasional thunder and rain drops on the lake's surface...was an experience to remember! Our campground was close to the lake which was nice. Throughout the majority of our time here, we pretty much went down to the lake and enjoyed the scenic views. We had other activities and games back at camp but relaxing by the lake was the biggie. During the evening hours, some of us went stargazing by the lake. It was pitch black so we could see all the stars and even the Milky Way! On our last evening, only some of us (me included) saw a bear eating our food at our campsite! I've never been so scared in my life lol. Surely, this year's camping trip was indeed for the record books! Safe travels out there guys.

We have been having really wacky weather lately. Seems like it is so bad that the meteorologists can't seem to get it right. They said today would be sunny all day but it started to rain this afternoon :S!
They have the only profession where they could be wrong everyday and still have a job the next day!
Have a rain-free week :)!
Seems like it sunny one second here and then raining the next and then windy the next and then hail and then sun...
