Persistent rain today didn't spoil the fine autumnal colours at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.
Left over roses from a few days ago, still arranged as I'd left them on my patio table, couldn't escape the heavy rain storm we had yesterday afternoon. And I wasn't about to go out to save them, or anything else in the yard.
Immer wieder heftige Gewitterschauer - bald ist es genug. Trotzdem können wir - die keine Unwetterschäden davon getragen haben - glücklich sein.
decided to retouch a few of my photo's from the other weekend in photo shop & add rain.
mainly because its raining today... & i can't get out to get more pictures. so, its a photo shop day unfortunately. don't get me wrong, i like playing on photo shop - but i'd rather be out shooting.

I haven't been able to get out much lately and all we've had is rain. So yesterday I went across the street to the neighbour's yard where they have this lovely purple tree and the raindrops looked so pretty on it. Zoom in to see all the tiny "creatures" in the largest raindrop :)
It was sunny nearly all day on Saturday at our coast place, but in the afternoon the weather suddenly went berserk and we had a violent rainstorm. I dodged out into the weather to get this grab shot as the sky was so fantastic. I shot this at 1/640 of a second using a 35mm lens, and the rain showed up as streaks even at this short exposure.
A couple of "if onlys":
If only it had been a longer exposure to make the streaks even longer, but my camera isn't waterproof even if I might be.
If only I had a strobe light ready to make the streaks stand out even more.
If only the storm lasted longer.
We were anxious to take our new bikes on some trails last evening, but we were rained out. Took a few snaps from our car as we drove through.

Had a chance to take the 7D and my macro out for a while in between storms. This lily looked to be on its way out, from the heavy rain the previous night. I love the way the wet granite boulder behind it picked up some color from the sky.
The field was very wet and my city shoes were soon covered of mud. But I liked the place and went on taking shots while I felt sinking myself in the muddy grass. Am I crazy?
