Went for a walk and ducked under a big pine tree when it started to rain. The fragrance is lovely this time of year.
I have been easy with trees

Too familiar with mountains.
Joy has been a habit.

Suddenly
This rain.
A native bee (a mining bee, Andrena prunorum) sheltering inside a sego lily (Calochortus nuttallii) on a rainy day. A beautiful, tri-colored little insect; wish I could have seen it fully dry (the bee probably would have preferred that as well). Pryor Mountains, Montana.
It was a hot day and I was drawn to this water fountain in the older part of Oakville, Ontario. It was still hot but I thought the picture was cool!
It's official: I am in a rain rut! Wet flowers seem to be all I have to post. Whatever. One of my new plantings from this spring.
While Marty waits for the swelling of her mouth to go away, she will play in her room in the meantime and enjoy the sound of the rain. She looks forward to a visit from the tooth fairy tonight.
