Lola in our living room, for once sitting still.
I found her coat a nice contrast to the dark surroundings.
Natural lighting from the summer day made this turn out pretty nice.
..or "Wet Look". Our shabby apology for a lawn always gets very waterlogged in heavy rain - and it has POURED recently. Sod's law the cattle in the neighbouring fields always escape when that happens and dance on it. The new grass seed in the resulting patches (patches? more like caverns!!!) has just begun to grow - the local baby rabbits find it very tempting!
This little guy seemed unsure of how to react to me permitting a close approach before taking off. Near Bronte Marsh, Oakville, Ontario
One of the many pet rabbits that have been abandoned in Jericho Park. This one was less shy than most but cautious enough to survive the usual predators.
This was something crazy I noticed. I was waiting for a bride and groom to take their photos at a park before their reception, and I saw about a dozen rabbits like this guy just chilling in this garden area. They were all in separate areas, with bushes and other flower gardens between them. All of a sudden all of their ears stood up at the same time. They paid no attention to me when I first arrived but for some reason they all stood up in full alert a few minutes later. And I noticed a short while later that a dog was approaching nearby. But the amazing thing was they this particular rabbit couldn't even see the dog from his location, because a) he was facing the opposite direction, and b) there were large shrubs between him and the dog.
Anways, it was pretty cool to see this type of synchronized alertness they had and they responded and ran away.
