a 5 minute exposure as the sun rises behind Tynemouth Pier and Priory

This mornings Sun Rise.

I have been wanting to photograph a sunrise at Charlestown for some time, this involves an early start and going over to the south coast of Cornwall.

I needed a 04:45 alarm call yet my old steam driven alarm clock is a bit unreliable shall we say, so what could be my back up plan, of course my trusty companions Hoof & Horace who between them could wake me at the appropriate time.

So plan in place, sure to form there was a heck of a rumpus outside in our driveway at said time. When I peered through the curtains there in the drive with mischief written all over their faces were my intrepid menagerie.

I was most impressed they were able to rise so early, I asked the dynamic duo how they were able to achieve this, easy they said we have just got home from a bender at one of our mates parties, so we are just off to bed. I guessed correctly that they would not be accompanying me to Charlestown.

Hope you all have a lovely week, get the snow tyres at the ready☃️

Thank you for viewing my images, the comments and banter are much appreciated. 🐎💨🐷💨🍺🍺🍺😎🍷🍷🍷😂😂😂.

It was hot today; I think I heard that it's the hottest day of the year... so far. Which sounds a little ominous, as if the temperature will keep rising until we're all forced to walk around with sprinkles or those spritzing fans....

Actually that wouldn't be so bad.

I saw another bunny downtown today, but resisted the urge to have a second bunny shot... although the temptation was real.

Anyway, hope everyone has had a good day.

"Such is the way of the world

You can never know

Just where to put all your faith

And how will it grow

Gonna rise up

Burning black holes in dark memories

Gonna rise up

Turning mistakes into gold

Such is the passage of time

Too fast to fold

Suddenly swallowed by signs

Lo and behold

Gonna rise up

Find my direction magnetically

Gonna rise up

Throw down my ace in the hole."

The next vertical in my planned series of vertical uploads is from Lake Oberon last year. This was a memorable evening not only for the environment but for how queasy I was feeling. I have since made plans to alter my eating habits while on the track to minimise freezed dried meals! Moonrise, milkyway rise and sunrise all coincided within 2 hours on this magical morning.

While out walking Miss Molly I stopped and took a photo of the Mist underneath the Royal Albert bridge in Saltash Cornwall . The sun was rising to the left and the glow on the water was just to nice not to capture and share! History of the Albert bridge this bridge is 100 feet above the water, with conventional plate-girder approach spans. This gives it a total length of 2,187.5 feet.

I wanted the car in this shot to give a sense of just how huge the rock formations are in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah, and how abruptly they rise from a flat plain. This Courthouse Towers peak is way bigger than most buildings in Philadelphia. Okay, that was a bad example. Most things are bigger than a Philadelphia building. But the high walls of these rocks really are spectacular. Photographed on Jeff Clow's Dirt Cheap Photo Tour.

For a few short minutes, the auroras transformed from a small low arch along the horizon to rapidly moving pillars and curtains of intense brightness and colour. It's a spectacular sight, no matter how many times you witness it.

Bonus of early morning birding, i love drinking coffee and watching sun rise but this time i couldn't stop capturing this wonderful moments, intentionally under exposed to see the dramatic Sun behind clouds.

Big thanks to Eric Kim for the interview over at his ever popular international street photography blog. Great guy.

The sun is rising later and later each day.

“Every time you try and fail,

Every time your hope gets stuck in the deeps,

And you wonder just how you'd get through the sail-

Don't forget that underneath your pain,

Is an anchor of great strength and fortitude

Keep digging until you find it...

And when you do,

RISE!”

I'm feeling very much like summer is already over... and I'm not sure if that is a good...or a bad thing... every year I say I am going to go tubing down the Delaware.... it hasn't happened yet.... so maybe.... it's a bad thing.
