The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas (formerly the Mandarin Oriental Hotel) reaches into the Nevada sky at CityCenter.

I've just taken this photo on the terrace while a thunderstorm was rattling around me. It's a macro of an alstroemeria flower on an alstroemeria plant that a recent lunch guest bought for us. I was delighted by the colour! I have a fondness for alstroemeria flowers as I used to buy them as part of a bouquet when living in London so I could take macros of them. To have my own large (& thriving) plant in a big pot bursting with flowers is a bit of a thrill (I get my thrills easily these days...).

Try as it might, the sun had a real effort on its hands attempting to show itself through the fluffy clouds. I just luv these type of skies, as they create such depth.

A play around with the settings, gave me the time I needed to get some foreground water movement. The small lighthouse at Roker"s curved pier is backlit by the sunrise colours.

Amazed I managed to get anything as every time I set up, down came the rain.

What happens in the forest stays in the forest

Shadows will rise from the extinguished light. Tears will melt the loneliness. The flying flower return to earth on the string of heaven.

Human leaves messages in fragments. Love become the bright moon to enter human world. It will flourish in the other end of the world, at both end.

One cord, one pillar, one branch, one leaf ….. In the end all lost in darkness.
