“The image in your eyes reflecting the pain that has taken you. I hear it in your voice, so ridden with shame from what’s hailing you. I won’t give up so don’t give in. You’ve fallen down but you can rise again so don’t give up.
When the demon that’s inside you is ready to begin and it feels like it’s a battle that you will never win. When you’re aching for the fire and begging for your sin. When there’s nothing left inside, there’s still a reason to fight.”

The mystery of Lake Gormire is that it has no major inflow or outflow of water, baffling people who wondered how the lake was fed. Modern scientists believe the water supply comes from an underground spring, but hundreds of years ago it’s existence was magical. Gormire translates as ‘filthy swamp’ and It’s dark appearance gave rise to several myths, including that it is bottomless and conceals the submerged remains of a sunken village. At least the deepest lake in Yorkshire. The lake is also known as the White Mere.
The city of Chattanooga, Tennessee is one of the South’s top travel destinations. The New York Times Magazine named this city one of the “Top 45 Places to go" in the World. Only four US destinations were named and the Scenic City was the only place outside of California.
Tucked between the mountains of Southeast Tennessee, along the beautiful Tennessee River, Chattanooga TN is one of America’s most breathtaking cities.
It was a moody spring afternoon spent with my head in the clouds. Love the dramatic skies during season change.

The Emerald City Seattle Washington.
One of my first skyline shots of the city, around 2011, before a load of new downtown high-rises went up.

I usually prefer colorful sunsets/rises but sometimes a moody day can be just as interesting. Especially when the landscape is as barren and pre-historic as here.
Seen here is one of the most photographed hills in Scotland, Stac Pollaidh.
Series of three. While taking pics of the Sparrowhawk I noticed movement in the grass just in front of me. This lovely Wheatear was standing looking at me, glowing in the evening sunshine.
CN's track geometry RDC runs up and down the empty yard tracks in St Thomas just after sunrise. At one time this yard was the division point for the Canada Airline which was completed by the GWR in 1854. Later on the line would host Wabash/N&W/NS traffic running between Buffalo and Detroit, as well as CN traffic. When the St Thomas Ford plant was producing "Panther Body's" an NS train from Buffalo brought frames and autoracks here for the plant. Today the only customers left are 3 in St Thomas. A scrap yard, an elevator, and Formet which builds truck frames. The line ends a couple of crossings west of the yard, and a few miles east it's out of service. CN and OSR interchange here during the week, and CN runs a local down from London 6 days a week. A shadow of its former self unfortunately.
Train: CN O999 with CN 1501 (RDC1).

More from 'foggy Saturday'. These are the pine trees that stand atop Colmer's Hill (lost in the thick mist.) The fog was at a perfect height, allowing the trees to look as though they're just suspended there.
Staring East across the Andalusian mountains as the sun rises on yet another magnificent day in Southern Spain.

8 shot panorama, again I used my red cellophane headlamp to give a bit of light, but changed the hue to give it a more natural feel.

From early morning to late at night, it's such an interesting life, and I'm healthy and free, and that's not so easy with a family.

Black and white impression from Castle Sinclair Girnigoe in Scotland. I work less with monochrome these days but the rugged cliffs and ruins perched atop seemed like a great combination to give it a go and create a moody image. Great sky helped with the atmosphere as well.

We must have been ambitious vacationers on July 1, 1995, as we made this fine photo of BN train No. 629, descending the 1% grade through Lynch Coulee east of Trinidad, Washington at 6:48 a.m.
You can see the uphill right of way on the opposite side of the coulee, a mile or two above "Trinidad Loop". No doubt we were tired of EMD SD40-2 locomotives at the time, as they were on every train we photographed that weekend.
