Ami passed away quietly in the night 9/21/08. I'm out of town, so my last memories are of him alive, which is how I'd like it to be.

I wrote a little tribute to him on my blog.

Terrible lighting inside the gym during night time - had to boost my ISO to 8000 most of the time to get half decent exposure at a shutter speed of 1/250 or 1/350 (usually sports photography is done at 1/1000). The result is a lot of grain but it's still a nice action shot none the less. In future I will be experimenting with a maximum ISO of 1600, a slower shutter speed and an aftermarket flash.

Just heard that Bill died this morning after fighting a losing battle against Pancreatic Cancer.

I can't say that i knew Bill that well but whenever i met him we always always had a laugh.
