The dilapidated Columbian Hotel on 2nd Street NW in downtown Ortonville, Minnesota. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, renovation plans are displayed on the front windows, but it doesn't look like much work has been done. The building was totally destroyed by fire early in the morning of October 26, 2012.
Haven't done a piece in awhile. Pulled this one out in a couple of hours. I did a terrible job re outlining RIP R. Dunn.
But Jackass will NEVER be the same and the guys on that show know it too.
Another look at the ABLA projects being torn down. Thank god because these were bad and the hope is that unlike all the other CHA plans they do not just move the people out. They need a hand up not a hand out (of the neighborhood). The complex is made up of four different projects and lacks continuity between any of them. it's hard to even find your way out as many of the streets dead end.
Construction on Route 148 wasn't done last fall, no sir. Last week, workers ripped up the asphalt laid down west of Centre Street, presumably as a temporary measure over the winter. They've since laid down concrete sidewalks.
2013-10-23: Today the Milwaukee County Zoo announced that Willie, the 28 yr old male polar bear, has passed away. Willie arrived at the Milwaukee County Zoo in 2011 while his home exhibit at the North Carolina Zoo went under renovations. He was well loved by everyone - this to my knowledge was the very last photo I took of him back in August. To the zoo staff and volunteers who have worked with him over the years, thank you for your care and my thoughts are with you.
