I will miss him and all he helped bring to this world in our era.

Ruby's 70th Birthday Celebration with Her Husband David Serame RIP at the South African High Commission UK London

one of several impromptu memorials on the hill road for the owl that died last week

In memory of Adam Yauch, founding member of my favourite band. I'm sad at his passing but we should celebrate what he has done, and the happiness he has given us all.

Pictures for our camp prayer letter.

I got to work in the camp store this Monday and once last week, training temporary store clerks. These people put me to shame. The first one worked in the kitchen all day and used her two-hour afternoon break in the store. This week's clerk is on vacation from Peace Corps in sub-saharan Africa and is also leading Small Group Leaders training when she isn't working in the store.

The camp moms are all taking turns doing the morning mail and errand run to town. One of the other moms watched my kids so that I could spend a day playing store. We're looking forward to some summer crew arriving soon to help us!

This is the first time in eleven years I've spent any time behind the counter. I've felt a little bit like Rip Van Winkle as struggle to remember all the things I used to do, and learn all the new things the store handles now - including s'mores, campfires and limited internet access!

Haven't really uploaded anything new in awhile :P but the weather is nicer and I'm on a bit of a break from school :]

I took some pics today and I may upload some more.

On 2 April 2008 Andre' crossed the bridge. He was a sweet old man that my mother rescued from the shelter in Sept of 2006. When she brought him home he was suffering from aspiration pneumonia on top of being very senior. He recovered under her care and lived a happy 1 1/2 years at my mother's house.

Andre' came to my mother with no known history but it was obvious once he was well that he had been a very spoiled poodle at some point in his life. He had expectations! My mother gladly met them! My mother is heartbroken but is happy that Andre' is no longer in pain.

I took this photo of my mom and Andre' last year while I was visiting my mother for her birthday.

Multiple neon signs for Minnehaha Liquors at the southeast corner of East Lake Street & Minnehaha Avenue in south Minneapolis. The store was destroyed by fire set by rioters on May 28th, 2020. The riots rose out of protests against the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police on May 25th.

This is Rip drinking the shot that consisted of everything that we had that could be drank. We're good friends.

I know I normally post my photography on here but I wanted to show some respect to Steve Jobs. I will miss him greatly.

Char ripped a bit of the arse of the only legwear he had with him. I took this picture to show him it wasn't as bad as he thought it was :p

With work on Thomas Homes' Smith's Quarter development now resumed, it is sad to see most of what was left of the GWR works traverser ripped up. Only the part necessary to serve STEAM remains.

Memorial du Cimetière Americain de Colleville sur mer

Exactly 150 years ago, someone decided that this was to be the timeless memorial to their life and works. And feet. But, in retrospect, this truly has to be one of the strangest monuments in Paris.

i have to admit i went through a battery of possible adjectives such as weird, bizarre, disturbing, unsettling, morbid, dubious and perturbing before I finally settled on 'strange' but the others have many merits.

One of the problems i have with this sepulture's sculpture is that these big chubby toes are right at eye-level, right in your fact, and i don't think i'd want someone staring straight at my fat feet whilst trying to have some quality reflective time alone with the memory of me. Unless, of course, he was some sort of foot-fetishist and that's exactly what he wanted to be remembered for.

Another thing which is a bit worrying too is that if you follow the upright panel with the date on heavenwards, you get to another little hole, out of which is peering... a head.

Maybe it's just me, but it does rather conjure up a sort of kinky cut-away coffin designed to titillate some fetid necrophiliac's fancy. Either that or some crazy-eyed magician is about to jump out from behind the tomb waving a saw and chop the whole thing in half but we'll still see the head nodding and the toes wiggling merrily.

Be that as it may, it's a photographer's dream, and what's more it's just about five seconds from where i first saw my own creepy Paris tomb which threw me for a bit, but now I'm quite pleased to have my personal official resting place in the city of my muse.

Anyway, I'll shut up now and let sleeping frogs lie, even if they are standing up. RIP.

Rips Drive-In sign. (My dad's drive-in) Torn down in the mid-80s. Corner of Inkster and Joy Rd, Dearborn Heights MI.

It strikes me I've seen that design before somewhere, maybe.

My favourite part has to be that he's ripped off the crappy pixellated GIF nav for IE6, instead of the PNGs. Guess he couldn't reproduce the latter?

I've emailed the guy, we'll see how this one goes. (Looks like he's taken it down now; the cause was officially "two developers in Shanghai". At least they weren't "interns" this time, I guess?)

With great dejectedness I have consigned my FinePix S9600 to the electronic scrapheap, eleven years and one day (and about 20,000 shots) after our first outing together. The S9600 was FujiFilm's most successful foray into the fabled "bridge camera" market, and I loved mine from the first time I twisted that fantastic 28-300 manual zoom. With a compact fixed-lens design and DSLR features for a very reasonable price, it was the camera I had been wishing for. The only let-down was the poor image quality at anything over ISO400 - easily forgiven at the time.

Unfortunately it has developed several faults, and will now exhaust a new set of batteries in a couple of weeks without even being switched on! Over the course of a decade dust has got inside the lens barrel and onto the CCD, which would be a specialist cleaning job to fix. That, coupled with it's 9MP sensor, poor low-light performance and atrocious manual focus mode, all means this camera has had its day. RIP.

25th February 2018.

Erected in 2001, this statue commemorates the story of Rip Van Winkle, the man who slept 20 years as written by Washington Irving.

Rip Caswell has a beautiful Gallery in downtown Troutdale,OR.

His works can be seen all over the world as well as in town.
