wee3beasties one of my contacts/friend, tragically lost a young kitten today.
Baby Boo was found abandoned and abused, with part of his lower lip and chin abraded horribly to the jaw. (among other awful injuries)
wee3beasties, lovingly brought him into her home and tried to treat his injuries.
When she saw they were not healing she took him to her vet to have surgery today.
Sadly he died on the operating table, as his tiny heart stopped and he could not be revived.
Our prayers went out to Baby Boo over the past week or so, but now they must go out to wee3beasties.
She is devastated.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you.

Oh..this little guy was so very gorgeous. Just one of the most beautiful ever. I had known him from other Flickr photos so when I got to meet him in person, it was a bit overwhelming! Unfortunately, 2 other lion monuments have been stolen from Dean Cemetery. There was a notice about the theft on the cemetery entrance gates. So very sad and just too horrible to be believed.
Dean Cemetery was laid out by David Cousin (who built Chirnside Bridge Paper Mill) and became a fashionable burial ground, its monuments becoming a rich source of Edinburgh and Victorian history, but mainly middle and upper-class. Many bear witness to Scottish achievement in peace and war, at home and abroad.
The cemetery is privately owned by the Dean Cemetery Trust Limited.
Of the many interesting notables buried here are William Henry Playfair, the architect, Sir Thomas Bouch, the railway engineer; Andrew Inglis (d. 1875), M.D., Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and Professor of Midwifery at Aberdeen University; Robert Hepburn Swinton of that Ilk (d.1852); and Major-General Sir Hector MacDonald, the distinguished Victorian soldier (d.1903); and artist and photography pioneer David Octavius Hill (d. 1870). There is a monument to historian John Hill Burton (who is buried at Dalmeny) and his wife Isabella (née Lauder) and their children who are buried here.
RIP Emitt Rhodes.
Somewhere, someone special just for me
Somewhere, someone special must be
Somewhere, someone special just for me
Somewhere, someone special must be
Somebody made for me, somebody made for you
Somebody made for me, somebody made for you
Ask and you'll receive
Dear God in Heaven, won't you help me please?
Somewhere, someone special just for you
Somewhere, someone special it's true
Somewhere, someone special just for you
Somewhere, someone special it's true
Somebody made for you, somebody made for me
Somebody made for you, somebody made for me
Ask and you'll receive
Dear God in Heaven, won't you help me please?
I've been searching all my life
Guess I've looked most everywhere
Many girls have caught my eye
But that special one's not there
Somewhere, someone special just for me
Somewhere, someone special must be
Somewhere, someone special just for you
Somewhere, someone special it's true
Somebody made for you, somebody made for me
Somebody made for me, somebody made for you
Ask and you'll receive
Dear God in Heaven, won't you help me please?
The lady died last weekend.
Imagine if she and Freddy Mecury could meet up and sing together again, eh?
Why?

Very early this morning we had to put down our beautiful girl Domino. She had a bad chest infection for a few weeks which wouldn't cease despite a few visits to the vet. Last night Ollie noticed that there was something wrong with her and took her to the vet again. It turned out that the infection had affected her brain and she lost the use of her front legs among other things. She was a very beautiful girl and a very good sister to Sally (who is actually behind her in this shot). Sally has always been very shy and Domino was the big sister that always protected her. She will be very sorely missed by us all. God rest her soul and may she rest in peace. I love you little one.

My friend called him her Tiny Dancer...at over 16 hands and 1,350 pounds, he thundered when he galloped. He was a friend to Viking horses and princess ponies alike...he loved them all. He was the ranch mascot and all the humans loved him, too. We called him Laurie's War Horse...she rode him all over the hills here bareback, and he whistled like a freight train when he was building up for a run. We're pretty sure she was the only person he would ever allow to ride him, and no one else was brave enough to try
