Here we have a new adition to Surreys Fleet. I think it may be a new water rescue unit or command unit anymore info on this machine would be great!

This is a baby squirrel that fell out of his nest onto the sidewalk this morning. He was right outside the studio when Leo found him, and he was still alive. We made his photo and then we quickly carried him in a Beta SP tape box to the Wildlife Rescue Center at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama.
The people at the Rescue Center said he was unusually small and needed fluids so they put him in an incubator. His ID number is BM357, so we'll check on him in a week or so and see how he's doing.
It is interesting to think that there are little guys just like him hidden away all up in the treetops, in cities and neighborhoods all around us, waiting to wake up and see what their life is about. Which usually is eating out of our birdfeeders and chewing up our attic trim.
I went for a drive down to Calshot this morning as the light was too awful for photography and I thought a quick walk along the beach would blow the cobwebs out. It was bitterly cold. Southerly winds blowing right off the sea and even with the Isle of Wight in the way, the wind chill was icy. I saw the coastguard helipcopter circling around further down the beach so I went to investigate (I always have my camera!). They were practising open sea rescue with the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute www.rnli.org.uk/) It is amazing what these guys do and they do not get paid for it, they rely soley on charity donations. The lighting is very iffy, but I think you will get the 'picture'. They did this 'rescue' about 6 times whilst I watched and I have to say in really rough water. Btw - that's the Isle of Wight you can see there. We can see it across the water from Calshot.
(Photo by Hattersley) This is another scan of a print from my collection. Photo circa the 1990s.
Through most of the 1990s, this 1985 Ford C-Series/Beck squad ran in tandem with Truck 23 (see below) as a two-piece company. Prior to that, from the time of its entry into service with the Citrus Heights Fire District until 1991, Squad 23 was a separate company, staffed by a captain and an engineer--plus a firefighter in the jump-seat if one was available.
In 1989, Citrus Heights FD merged with the Rancho Cordova Fire Protection District to form the Sacramento County Fire Protection District.
This is the last former Citrus Heights Fire District apparatus still in service with successor agency Sacramento Metro Fire, having been converted to a dry-chemical response unit for aircraft emergencies at McClellan Field. It is now known as RAMP 114.
Trying to save him from a spider web without damaging the delicate wings. The rescue was successful, I am happy to report! :-)

4 wheeling and a self rescue. The road gave out on the left and it was a 1000 foot straight down.

The Citrus Heights Fire District ran this 1984 or 1985 Ford C-Series/Beck rescue-salvage-lighting truck from Station 23 in Citrus Heights, California. It was one of a pair, the other running initially as Squad 27 and then as Squad 28 (and which was ALS-equipped and had a paramedic or an EMT II assigned).
Prior to the 1989 merger with the Rancho Cordova Fire Protection District (Sacramento County Fire) and for a couple of years after, typical staffing of the squad consisted of a captain and an engineer. In 1991, it was paired with newly-established Truck 23 (a Sutphen 75-foot aerial quint) and ran as a part of a two-piece truck company with four personnel.
Today, this is the last remaining former Citrus Heights FD apparatus still in service with successor Sacramento Metropolitan Fire, having been equipped with a dry-chemical system for aircraft emergencies at McClellan Field. It is now known as RAMP 114.
With the news that 86638 has now too succumbed to storage, a trip down memory lane and a rescue mission! After 90043 had embarrassed itself on Garston FLT after arriving in with 4F45, support came in the form of 86638 which made a light engine dash from Crewe BH. Seen here at Acton bridge firstly on its way, and secondly, the former E3108 is seen dragging the errant 90 back to base on the 4K64 11:46 Garston FLT to Crewe Basford Hall service. 25/05/2017.
Two to one
Static to the sound of you and I
I'm done for the last time
And there this was
Hiding at the bottom of your
Swimming pool some September
And don't you think
I wish that I could stay
Your lips give you away
I can hear it, a jet engine
Through the center of the storm
And I'm thinking I'd
Prefer not to be rescued
