Someone phoned me early this morning so I looked out my window to see what the weather was like and as it was really sunny I decided to get a train to Maynooth. When I arrived in the town the weather was still beautiful so I decided to visit the university as I wanted to photograph the old graveyard and it was then that I discovered that my spare batteries were all exhausted. I must admit that I was really annoyed with myself. Because of the exhausted batteries I had to cut my visit short. I got the train back to Connolly with the intention of getting a Luas tram back to my apartment but the service had been suspended because of an incident at Jervis. I like the Luas but every time that I have used the red line service since Christmas there has been an incident or extended delay which is worrying considering that I use the service at least four or five times per week.
Maynooth is a university town in north County Kildare, Ireland. It is home to Maynooth University (also known as The National University of Ireland Maynooth) part of the National University of Ireland, a Pontifical University and Ireland's main Roman Catholic seminary, St Patrick's College. Maynooth is also the seat of the Irish Catholic Bishops' Conference and holds the headquarters of Ireland's largest development charity, Trócaire.
Before the economic crash here in Ireland I visited Maynooth on a regular basis and frequently had a meal there but it is a while since I last visited and this time I got the impression that the town has been badly impacted by the financial crisis.
The articles about home owners protecting their homes from burglars..bit dark but still playing with colour nonsense
Almost as quickly as the crew arrived this morning, the San Joaquin Train #713 gets the "Oakland Base" crew to take the train back to Oakland, CA., from Merced, CA. With a busted headlight, this crew wastes no time getting out of Merced, CA., with a friendly wave from the conductor today.

The surprise I suppose is not that the eagle doesn't chew -- no teeth on the beak, right -- it's the immoderate amounts eaten.

Golden Gate Transit's Route 101 to Santa Rosa, CA., has a 2003 Orion V on it this afternoon. This bus has negotiated the Copeland Street Transit Mall and is getting out of town as quickly as it can today!

Eggs always make for quick meals around here. When you're running late, there's nothing better than being able to whip up a home cooked meal in minutes. When you have a few quick meals in your repertoire, you don't have to buy pre-packaged food and keep it around. Eggs always fit the bill for quick meals, they cook quickly, are super healthy, and delicious! You can make omelets filled with veggies & cheese. One of my favorite ways to eat eggs - poached in tomato sauce.

Oh my word, these were so much fun to make! These are in the 0-3 months size and they fit my petite 5 month old perfectly! I definitely see more of these in my future.

Quick present for some good friends, they have 2 of these westies and LOVE them , we saw this postcard in our village and thought of them, so i made the frame. Didnt want to 'take' away from the picture, so kept it simple, but i hope, effective :)

I hacked off a couple QR skewers & threaded the ends so I could pop the handlebar stem off & on easily. I'm very happy with how well this works!
Pulling up for a quick photo-stop on the final ever No.1 tour of Llandudno and Conwy is D171 FYM (3997), which was the rarest of the four Junction allocated open-toppers to work the service. A photo caption on this site from 2010 sees me revealing the fact that this was 3997's second day working on the tour - I now can't remember the supposed first occasion! There's certainly no photo if it anywhere in the dusty vaults.
Once the shots were secured, the driver set home for the depot and as we now know, it closed a short but sweet chapter of local bus operations. Summer 2010, the revival of regular open-top services in and out of Llandudno.

U.S. Army and Polish special operations forces conduct close-quarters combat training Sept. 10, 2014, in Baumholder, Germany, during Jackal Stone 2014, an annual joint special operations exercise. While large-scale, complex programs representing a big leap ahead in capability call for more complicated acquisition processes to manage risk properly, Kendall says DOD acquisition has taken a page or two from special forces programs that can acquire niche capabilities relatively quickly.
