U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill listened to ideas and concerns, and answered questions from Missourians today at a public town hall meeting in Hannibal—one of eight public town halls she is holding across the Show-Me state this week.
McCaskill has hosted public town hall meetings in Missouri throughout her time in the U.S. Senate.
“One of the most important parts of my job is listening to Missourians about their ideas and concerns, getting their input, and holding myself accountable face-to-face,” said McCaskill, who grew up in rural Missouri. “I wanted the folks at today’s town hall, and across the state, to know that the people they elected to represent them truly hear them, and stand ready to take their ideas to Washington on how to combat the scourge of sex trafficking, ensure access to affordable health care, and prevent drastic budget cuts—including those that would impact the very building we were in today.”
McCaskill is hosting eight public town halls this week in Buchanan County, Callaway County, Greene County, Jefferson County, Marion County, New Madrid County, Phelps County, and Platte County.
Public town halls with Missourians have been a hallmark of McCaskill’s time in the Senate, including tours across the state. During debate over the Affordable Care Act—at a time of heightened demonstrations against the law—McCaskill held a series of highly publicized town halls, including in traditionally conservative areas of Missouri, to hear directly from Missourians about their concerns and respond to criticisms. In 2014, McCaskill logged more than 1,000 miles around the state on her “McCaskill on Main Street” series of public town halls.
McCaskill has also toured the state with town halls aimed at military veterans and seniors—and has hosted individual town halls, such as one she hosted last year with then-U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack focused on the opioid epidemic.
This is a photograph from the first running of the newly situated Irish 3/4 Marathon (formerly the Athlone 3/4) which was held in Longwood, Enfield, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 9th of October 2016 at 10:00. The event is positioned perfectly in the calendar as a key training race before the Dublin City Marathon at the end of the month. This year was the first year that the event was held in Longwood, Co. Meath which is now well known for its hosting of the Longwood 10KM/5KM annual races and a host venue for East of Ireland Marathon series marathons on a bi-annual basis. The race started and finished at Longwood GAA club just outside the village of Longwood. It followed an anti-clockwise course around the beautiful picturesque countryside of south Meath. The course went through the townlands of Longwood, Castlerickard, Killyon, Hill-of-Down, Anneville and Ashfield Clonard, Blackshare, Stoneyford and back to Longwood. The river Boyne and Blackwater were crossed as was the Royal Canal and the Dublin-Sligo Railway line at Hill-of-Down. Overall this was a very different course to the previous years in Athlone. The overall elevation of the course works out at 3/4 of the total elevation of the Dublin Marathon course. What most stood out about today's race was the course and how the countryside around it looked on a beautiful almost perfect Autumn morning. The organisation of the race was first class with every detail taken care of from the start until the finish.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. ACT NOW: End Gender Violence! Carry Forward the Struggle for Womens Freedom and Equality! .
The 23-year-old Delhi gang-rape victim finally succumbed to her injuries on 29 December morning after battling on bravely for 13 days. The unknown young woman will go down in history as one of Indias most memorable fighters for the cause of justice and freedom for Indias women freedom without the fear of violence and fetters of patriarchal domination. .
The courage of that brave fighter has unleashed spontaneous waves of movements on the streets. But now, the political class and the government, after the most callous apathy and repression, has begun to respond with a range of token gestures and palliatives. Can the scar inflicted by the brutal gang-rape be healed by such hollow gestures? .
Is rape an alien cancer in mainstream society? Or in fact, is it the most violent and sordid expression of a deep-seated prejudice and structural discrimination against women that defines mainstream society and culture in India today? Even at this height of the ongoing country wide protest, that a range of political leaders of various ruling parties could make vicious sexist comments and then get away with token apology and the respective parties refusing to take any action against them, are a shocking pointer to the misogynist mindset of the ruling elite. Similarly, leaders of several parties have made comments blaming the rape victim herself. .
Further, casteist rape, communal rape, and custodial rape all very often sponsored by and patronised by the State and dominant social groups, is shameful reminder that rape remains a favoured weapon by dominant sections or by the State on marginalised and oppressed people. The two previous landmarks of the womens movement against sexual violence in India have both been custodial rapes the Mathura rape case in which policemen raped an adivasi teenager and then were acquitted by a court which held that Mathura had been habituated to sex; and the powerful movement spearheaded by Manipuri women in 2004 against the AFSPA following the rape and murder of Thangjam Manorama. .
The Government is attempting to address the ongoing agitation with some flashy and sensational solutions, divorced from the actual tough questions asked by the womens movement. It is important to foreground those tough questions and refuse to allow them to be deflected by a high-pitched debate on extraneous issues. .
Changes in rape laws and other laws dealing with discrimination and violence against women, and more importantly with the mechanism of implementation and the justice delivery system, are of urgent importance and the government must be forced to adopt an inclusive and transparent democratic process in proper consultation with womens movement to bring about much-needed and much-awaited changes in this direction. .
But the impetus generated by the December upsurge in Delhi and across the country cannot and must not be allowed to be lost in a battle exclusively concerned with legal provisions for justice to rape victims. Already we have seen the protests target instances of victim-blaming and rape culture. In the latest instance, a successful campaign took place against the offensive rape-celebrating lyrics of rapper Honey Singh. We need to face and question every aspect of patriarchal culture that fosters rape and other forms of violence against women. The movement must remain alive, and become part of the daily life breath of our society, doing daily battle with entrenched patriarchal common sense. .

Le reportage se penche ensuite sur la préfabrication en usine. Ces procédés de préfabrication en usine selon le commentaire sont bien adaptés aux pays en voie de développement, cela est illustré dans le reportage par une réalisation en Libye à Benghazi. Dans la course à l'allégement des matériaux un procédé l'isola béton est présenté. Un chapitre sur la construction métallique explique les avantage de ce procédé. La fabrication de composants ouvre de nouvelles perspectives à l'industrie du bâtiment.

Ministère de l'Équipement et de l'Aménagement du Territoire - Dotation par la France d'autoroutes modernes "nécessité vitale" pour palier à l'inadaptation du réseau routier de l'époque voué à la paralysie : le reportage nous montre des images d'embouteillages. Le ministre de l'Équipement et de l'Aménagement du Territoire dans les deux gouvernements de Pierre Messmer, de 1972 à 1974, Olivier Guichard explique les ambitions du programme de construction qui doit atteindre 800 km par ans en 1978. L'ouverture de section nouvelles va bon train : Nancy / Metz par exemple. Le reportage nous montre l'intérieur des bureaux d'études qui conçoivent ces autoroute dont la conception est assistée par ordinateurs dont le projet d'ensemble en 3D est visualisé sur un écran. This year, British born and based film critic, film festival programmer and occasional filmmaker, Tony Rayns led the forum. Had a male Northern Cardinal in the yard today with some interesting coloration. Face, bill and crest were the usual reddish color. Black mask was OK too. But the rest of the bird's body was a combination of gray, peach, light orange, sort-of-bluish, and whitish colors. In other words, the facial area looked fine for a male Cardinal, but the rest of the feathers looked a little "different". Young male not quite transitioned to adult male plumage? Partially leucistic bird? Artifact of late afternoon light?

Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus (The Stargate Mix)
Depeche Mode are an English electronic band that formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The group consists of founders Dave Gahan (lead vocals, occasional songwriter since 2005), Martin Gore (guitar, keyboards, vocals, main songwriter since 1982), and Andy Fletcher (keyboards, bass guitar). Depeche Mode released their debut album Speak & Spell in 1981, bringing the band onto the British new wave scene. Original band member Vince Clarke (keyboards, guitar, main songwriter from 1980 to 1981), left the band after the release of the album, leaving the band as a trio to record A Broken Frame, released the following year. Will be busy printing and framing in nice large, matted formats and frames and museum glass! Five of these photos will be printed on 40" x 60" floating wall mounted metal sheets! I think I know which--will share photos of the photos hanging on the walls!
And I am mounting some on plexiglass/acryllic--front mounting them! Some I am printing on lossy fuji-crystal archival paper too, and then front mounting 40"x60" versions to plexiglass--will send photos!
The secret to HDR photography is that you want people to say, "Woe dude--that's unreal!" And not, "Dude--that's not real!" "Unreal" is the word they use when they're trying to figure out the photo--what makes it cool--is it a photo? Is it painted? How'd it come to be--how'd you bend the light that way? "That's not real," is what they say if you have the saturation/HDR/ etc. turned up too high. :)
Some (almost) final edits for my Los Angeles Gallery Show! Printing them on metallic paper at 13" x 19" and mounting and framing them on a 4mm 18x24 white mat and 2" dark wood frame. Also printing some 40" x 70" whihc is over three feet by five feet! Wish you all could come (and hang out with the goddesses)!

Hundreds of re-enactors portrayed military organizations from Roman times, the medieval period, Hundred Years’ War, War of the Roses, French and Indian War, American Revolution, War of 1812 and American Civil War as well as World Wars I and II, the Vietnam War and the Falklands War with Soldiers from the Hampton-based Battery B, 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team representing the modern military. The event also gave the Soldiers the opportunity to train on crew drills and fire blank ammunition to improve their proficiency to prepare for live-fire training scheduled for their April drill weekend. Depeche Mode are an English electronic band that formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The group consists of founders Dave Gahan (lead vocals, occasional songwriter since 2005), Martin Gore (guitar, keyboards, vocals, main songwriter since 1982), and Andy Fletcher (keyboards, bass guitar). Depeche Mode released their debut album Speak & Spell in 1981, bringing the band onto the British new wave scene. Original band member Vince Clarke (keyboards, guitar, main songwriter from 1980 to 1981), left the band after the release of the album, leaving the band as a trio to record A Broken Frame, released the following year. Gore took over the lead songwriting duties and, later in 1982, Alan Wilder (keyboards, drums, bass guitar, occasional songwriter) officially joined the band to fill Clarke's spot, establishing a line up that would continue for the next 13 years. Depeche Mode have been a trio again since 1995, when Wilder left.

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust held its 2012 Annual General Meeting at Beechen Grove Baptist Church Hall, Watford on 25 September.
This gave members ot the public the opportunity to meet hospital staff to discuss their work through displays, as well as listening to presentations from the Chief Executive Jan Filochowski and representatives from Kier Property, the preferred private sector partner to deliver the Watford Health Campus scheme.
In addition, copies of the Trust accounts, the Quality Account and the Annual Report for 2011/12 were made available. The Annual Report can also be accessed at www.westhertshospitals.nhs.uk/annualreport/
