What secrets lie hidden in the depths of the forest? What extraordinary events unfold there, and when do they occur? Countless questions surround the enigmatic happenings beneath the dense canopy of trees. It is undeniable that tremendous, almost otherworldly forces have been at work here—forces so strong that they have altered the very geometry of the forest system, twisting its natural order and tilting it, in places, by a full 90°. The air is heavy with whispers of the unknown, the shadows play tricks on the eye, and every rustle of leaves feels like a message from the forest's mysterious heart.

Question Marks and Eastern Commas were "puddling" on a "leaky" maple that dripped water and sap from holes sapsuckers had drilled into the trunk.

The question is did I duck? WTE Nikon D500, 200-500 lens at 200mm and the image is not cropped, this was about the 30th pic in the sequence from take off, I do not think she/He was impressed with me. the wind as she went pass was amazing

Is this the curtain call?

I can only love what feels right

What are all these questions for?

I know I want it but is it right? . . .

The droplets from the thrashing tail of the fish form an almost perfect '?' in the air.

This Great Crested Grebe must be a juvenile, I think, as it was relatively unsuccessful in its fishing attempts. Usually, they bring up a fish every 10 - 20 dives. This bird made at least 50 dives before surfacing with the Perch in question.

One has to move carefully when stalking a fishing Grebe - they get easily spooked by movement on the bank and swim away - I have learned to only move whilst they are underwater and remain very still when they are on the surface, even if they are 20 metres away.

With the rumours of the potential demise of Flickr I have been giving some thought to where I might find another place like it ... and I don't have a good answer.

Flickr has been (and hopefully will remain) a place to share and to be inspired unlike any other place I have encountered in 'cyber-space.' Although I have been critical of many of the changes that have been made to the site over the years (and complementary to other changes) I have remained a steadfast participant on an almost daily basis for close to 10 years now. Why? It's simple really ... because of the people I have 'met' here. Many good and some great photographers yes .... but much more importantly many good and some truly great people who ... although we will likely never meet face-to-face ... have been an almost daily part of my life in a small but important way. Flickr managed somehow to successfully mimic a true community and achieved just about the right mix of intensity and casualness of interaction that allows a truly international and marvelously varied group of individuals with a common interest to connect in a very human and supportive way!

To all my Flickr friends (you know who you are) ... without Flickr as a connector we are in real danger of 'losing touch.' I promise I am not a sentimental (old) fool ... I might be rightly accused of being old but I doubt I have ever been tagged as 'sentimental.' I have thoroughly enjoyed our sometimes daily, sometimes weekly, and sometimes less often 'meetings' over the years and don't want to see it gone. The solution escapes me for the moment ... suggestions?

Please feel free to share this 'question' that I pose ... no doubt in the vast number of connections that we have collectively made there is someone with a bright idea. I hope the discussion goes viral and in-so-doing Flickr gets recognized as a worthy 'meeting place' that can be sustained and maybe even made profitable?

Pink it's my new obsession

Yeah, pink it's not even a question

Pink on the lips of your lover, cause

Pink is the love you discovah

Pink as the bing on your cherry

Pink cause you are so very

Pink it's the color of passion

A-cause today it just goes with the fashion

Pink it was love at first sight

I yell pink when I turn out the light, and

Pink gets me high as a kite

And I think everything is goin to be all right

No matter what we do tonight

You could be my flamingo

'Cause pink is the new kinda lingo

Pink like a deco umbrella

It's kink - but you don't ever tell her

Pink it was love at first sight

I yell pink when I turn out the light, and

Pink gets me high as a kite

And I think everything is goin to be all right

No matter what we do tonight

I, I want to be your lover

I, I want to wrap you in rubber

As pink as the sheets that we lay on

'Cause pink, it's my favorite crayon, yeah

Pink it was love at first sight

I yell pink when I turn out the light, and

Pink gets me high as a kite

And I think everything is goin to be all right

No matter what we do tonight

The Ministry of Time

Chapter III: The Saboteur's Plan

The style card and credits here

When Richard materialized in the bustling streets of New York in the year 2025, he immediately felt a disturbance in the temporal fabric. People were passing by in a hurry, unaware of the imminent danger lurking in the shadows. Following the coordinates provided by the Ministry, Richard and his companion headed towards the vicinity of a nuclear plant. As they approached, they saw a suspicious figure hunched over a device of peculiar appearance typing rapidly on it. With stealth and precision, Richard approached the saboteur, while his pulse throbbed with electric intensity. Suddenly, footsteps were heard resonating beside him, and Agent Pablo Torres emerged from the shadows, his weapon drawn and ready.

"We have you now," proclaimed Pablo with firm and authoritative voice.

The saboteur leaped and started running as Richard and Pablo chased after him. At a certain point, he abruptly stopped and with a cold smile on his face, rummaged in a pocket and pulled out a small device that he activated with a click. With a dazzling flash of light, a temporal distortion opened before him. Before Richard or Pablo could react, the saboteur disappeared into the temporal vortex, leaving the agents astonished and without clues to follow his trail.

Back at the Ministry, Richard and Pablo faced the harsh reality of their failure. The saboteur had escaped, leaving behind more questions than answers. As they discussed what had happened, Richard noticed that Pablo was out of breath, with a hand on his chest.

"Are you okay, Pablo?" asked Richard, concerned.

Pablo nodded with a weak smile. "I don't think I'll be able to join you in the next pursuit," he admitted.

Richard furrowed his brow, visibly worried about his friend's health. Later, after leaving Pablo in the infirmary, Richard reflected with amazement: "It's the first time we've seen interdimensional portals open wherever one desires. This complicates things a lot."

With time running out, they knew they had to redouble their efforts to stop the saboteur's sinister plans and protect the timeline at all costs.

Transportbeton's nice indusriual storage tower but how liong: That is the Question. For refugies we need

Winter precipitation is moving in, the question is will it fall as snow or rain?

from rilke: “try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. do not look for the answers. they cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. it is a question of experiencing everything. at present you need to live the question. perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer.”

This mother lives in Zaatari, a refugee camp with no fewer than 80.000 refugeea on the border between Jordan and Syria. She has lost her son. Blancquaert asked her just one question: Tell me about your son's life, from the moment he started growing inside you to the present day “ Speaking in her own language, the veiled mother talks of her despair, her search, the sense of loss and her heartrending grief. Though we don't understand her words, her body language tells us everything.

Raw file into Affinity Photo. Lost the EXIF data somehow but it’s: Canon EOS 6D Mark II, Lens EF 50mm, Exp. 1.3” @ f/18, ISO 320.

This is the photo that started the conversation with questions that perhaps can't be answered. I've always liked and hated this shot. The larger Blue-eyed Darners are known to perch in a vertical position and, in 11 years, I've managed to capture just one of these three-inch beauties. It's funny that I was able to catch five of these in flight with an SX10 in 2010, but never just resting.

But the question came up, should I Photoshop all the grass out or would that be cheating? Opinions varied and still do. My problem was that I've never learned Photoshop, and although I think it's fantastic what can be done with the software, I also think there's a limit as to what changes can be made.

Besides, I have a mid-level software program which I use for some edition. Certainly cropping. Maybe a little contrast, but I rarely touch the color. Guaranteed that my Cardinal Meadowhawk is the brightest red you've ever or I've ever seen.

Over the years, I diddled with this shot. The only thing I could do is put a vignette around it, but that still left most of its habitat. I actually started the summer of 2019 trying to find another perched as this, but no luck. So, like it or not, here's my one and only Blue-eyed Darner Mosaic (aka, Mosaic Darner) in all its grassy splendor.

To be very frankly. Until now, I still have no idea what is that bright colour reflection in the water drop?

May be it is the shed in my backyard. This is the water drops macro done in my backyard in 2013.

Would you take a closer look and make a wild guess too? :o)

Have a great evening!

Have you examined and studied your inner micro-universe?

If photography is art of seeing, then philosophy is art of thinking. Philosophy guides us in asking the right questions and reviewing the basic assumptions and working mechanism in our mind.

For example, you may tease the idiot followers of technology that line up in front of the Apple stores. However do you believe that Photoshop and RAW files are going to help you improve your photography? Is this coming from the similar kind of ideology? Do you think you have a critical mind independent of all the mass media and internet brain-wash?

Are you able to doubt or challenge the words of God and/or those from the leaders in the political, religious, academic or scientific fields? The philosophers can give you a hand on this.

This is the galaxy of micro-universe I saw in my backyard.

Have a great philosophical Wednesday!

Je n'ai pas boudé mon plaisir de photographier sous toutes les coutures cette fresque murale sur le thème de la Commune de Paris, rue de la ferme Savy (où furent situées les dernières barricades), au bas du parc de Belleville à Paris. Since I need some winter images for a proper photo calendar i looked for something worth capturing during those days when we had at least a little bit of snow.

Actually the amount of snow we had wasn’t even enough to cover the grass on this hill, so I cloned out hundreds of grass blades, which was great fun.

Not.

Question:

Is model release needed from the person captured in street shots which are not used commercially?

There was a street shot posted by my nephew: HERE. The person captured in the photo was pretty furious with that post and requested to have it removed from his Flickr site.

My nephew has removed it from his photostream out of respect for her.

I hope to take this opportunity to seek your opinion about our right in terms of photographing human subject on the street.
