Here is my pretty little Quartz rock I found a few days ago on my walk. The rock was dirty and all I could see a tiny bit of Quartz which I found so pretty. So when I got home I cleaned it and got quite a surprise when the whole rock was quartz. It's sitting proudly on the shelf outside next to my Kookaburra Garden ornament.
Quartz is a hard, crystalline mineral composed primarily of silicon dioxide (SiO2), commonly found in various rocks. It's the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's crust and has many forms and colors. Quartz is known for its diverse applications, ranging from gemstones like amethyst and citrine to its use in electronics and construction materials.

This image is from last weekend when I ventured up Quarts Creek, or also known as Quartsville creek. I can't emphasize enough how beautiful it is up in this part of the Oregon cascade mountains. I have been up here before a few years ago, but not with a camera. There is so many opportunities for stream / creek side shots up here, not to mention the many tributaries as well. I will be back to this area several times I suppose :)
It was Chuck Harkins who re-kindled my desire to go up here by encouraging me to do so. Thanks Chuck !
It certainly looks it's best viewed large on black here B l a c k M a g i c
A collectable mineral that owes its colour to iron impurities. lt is hard enough to be used in jewellery and the best varieties come from Siberia.Sri Lanka and Brazil . Some believe this mineral to have healing properties.

Thank you Lillycat for your marvelous job! ♥♥♥
Her name is Lisèn, she's inspired by a stone called "Aura Quartz", so we put pastel blue and purple in her wig and facup, we also wanted to add some gold touches ♥
She also has a tiny star-shapped stone incrusted on her torso (magical-girl style! XD)
The entire customization is done by my girlfriend! ♥

"Mariposite" and Quartz exposed along the wall of an adit. Mariposite is not an officially recognized mineral or rock. The term has been used informally in the California Motherlode Belt and other gold-bearing areas of the Sierra Nevada since the 1800s to describe various types of very fine grained mica with a green color caused by the presence of chromium. During the California gold rush, miners learned that outcrops of mariposite often were good markers for zones where gold had been deposited. Original 16-to-1 Mine. Alleghany Mining District.
