Macro Mondays 'zed' theme.

Another from my mineral collection is this quartz. When small crystals grow in this sugar-like formation along the main 'stems' it is known as druzy, hence druzy quartz. Lead inclusions can also be seen as flecks in the crystals.

Local RMRL821116, commonly known as the "Night Gas", rolls across Quartz Creek on MRL's 4th Subdivision.

This specimen nicknamed “The Rabbit Ears” is elbaite (a member of the tourmaline group), found in 1972 at the Tourmaline Queen Mine, San Diego County, California. This 24 cm example is the finest of the 33 major specimens recovered and is considered the finest North American tourmaline. The crystals are undamaged and grow from quartz crystal and are accompanied by smaller tourmaline crystals.

To shoot this Macro image with backlighting, I used a smooth and clear transparent crystal jewelry box as a base and placed LED lighting inside. Next I arranged the quartz stones on the top face of the crystal box and then shot my macro image with backlighting. The background is a black card.

Quartz Tower is a part of Q Residences, which is a residential complex composed of two buildings located in the district of Buitenveldert in Amsterdam. Quartz Tower, which is 75 metres tall, was designed by Studio Gang and inaugurated in 2022.
