A pair of rat trap GE C40-8 variants lead a pair of their newer GE counterparts and a monster train of general freight through Cranesville, Amsterdam, New York on a beautiful June morning.
Thinking back, I'm sure I wanted to see the "shiny" stuff up front. But now, I'd much rather see these in charge.

I got this shot by pointing my camera through the window of the newly built Quality Hotel Globe in Stockholm.
I told the boys they could only have one Cookie each for dessert.
Leave it a Golden to pull out the scales and the large Cookies, and start weighing each one to find the biggest.

Après plus de 4 heures de routes difficiles en Jeep à partir d'El Calafate en Argentine, les Torres se sont offertes à nos yeux émerveillés...: totale spendeur de la nature balayée par un vent des Andes d'une violence rare.
Et la belle montagne se nappait ainsi constamment de vapeurs de" flamme" changeantes et éblouissantes comme dans un rêve!
Ce rêve n'a duré que quelques minutes car il nous fallait déjà penser à reprendre la route pour El Calafate où nous devions décoller dans la soirée pour Ushuaïa.

(I actually picked the leaf from elsewhere -- what a lapse in journalistic ethics!)
The Quality Inn a few miles from where I live burned down recently. I hadn't heard about it, I just stumbled upon it while taking a walk.
It was the Jewish feast of Suckot. Jerusalem, as it is in every Jewish feast, was very silent, you may say holy: hardly any people or cars on the street; all the stores are closed. .
.
Deir Es-Sultan (the roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Ethiopian compound of the church), was a 'capsule' of a totally different atmosphere: The Ethiopian community celebrated the 'Exaltation of the Holy Cross' in singing, dancing and drum playing..
.
I guess, in a nutshell it presents you the 'mosaic' quality of Jerusalem, and maybe, beyond, some of the differences between Western and African modes..
