The late 1940s are generally thought of as a low point in comics history because of the demise of the Golden Age super-heroes, but in fact comics never before and rarely since enjoyed a larger, more diverse, and more adult readership than in those years. As a result, several genres, including romance, crime, and horror comics, emerged to cater to older readers, with more sophisticated stories and themes and a harder edge to their material.
Love Letters, from Quality Comics, came out quickly on the heals of the first romance comics from Simon and Kirby, Young Love and Young Romance. Love Letters took its cue from those pioneering titles, offering bittersweet tales of temptation, betrayal, class conflict, and emotional violence that belied the image of sappy sentimentalism that later overtook the love comics genre. Artists like Bill Ward and Reed Crandall helped lift the standard even higher.

Random post for Project 52. Bought a new pair of jeans the weekend, on the first wear one of the buttons dropped off! (Not due to an overstressed waist I hasten to add)!
Project 52: New
Something old in the form of old warhorse ES40DC 5332 and something new CM44AH 7508 head up seasonal TOFC train I035-26 on 26November2022 south of Dahlgren Junction.
Seen in Croydon Road Wallington, 9th of August 2013. First of its type in the country, with the first L.E.Ds in London.
A pair of rat trap GE C40-8 variants lead a pair of their newer GE counterparts and a monster train of general freight through Cranesville, Amsterdam, New York on a beautiful June morning.
Thinking back, I'm sure I wanted to see the "shiny" stuff up front. But now, I'd much rather see these in charge.
Cranesville, Amsterdam, NY
June 2014
The quality of the shot is not great...but the early morning sky with a pretty purple/pink cast made for an interesting shot.
one can get some interesting shots with the 1.4 wide-angle Viltrox

1.
Since everything is in our heads, we had better not loose them.

Fashion is architecture. It is a matter of proportions.
3.
Quietly, calmly, with great determination, I began working on un belle collection...........

The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.

I love luxury ... not in richness and ornateness but in the absence of vulgarity ... the ugliest word in our language.

A Male Northern Cardinal seems to be thinking about the state of things. Thanks for the look and have a great weekend.
I got this shot by pointing my camera through the window of the newly built Quality Hotel Globe in Stockholm.
I told the boys they could only have one Cookie each for dessert.
Leave it a Golden to pull out the scales and the large Cookies, and start weighing each one to find the biggest.

This binocular belonged to my deceased father-in-law. My mother- in-law gave it to me. It was more than 25 years old and in bad shape. Focus- system not working and it was manhandled by several grandchildren incl. my own.
It was shipped to Austria and it came back 4 weeks later. It looked brand new and optics.... well.... FANTASTIC!.
Oh and the cost? Absolutly free. No charge at all.
