Mama Bluebird is building a nest in my backyard box. Daddy's role seems to be that of building inspector. He takes no role in the nest building other than to fly to the box and peer in every time Mama takes in a mouthful of grass. In this case he removed this piece, flew to his favorite perch and dropped it. Go figure.

We went for dinner at Santana Row, an upscale shopping/restaurant area in San Jose, California. The main road is closed for traffic, and converted into outdoor dining, which gives a European touch. The trees are decorate, giving a nice background for a fast lens.

I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, desaturated the image, and added some sepia. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

One Step for a Nation, One step for Humanity?

Where is the Mr. or Ms. Smith when we need them the most? Maybe this will be the person and he or she has arrived in Washington to help the little guy and do the right thing for our nation & for the world.

Our nation is at a cross road and the path ahead isn't very clear to many of us. Whoever wins this election the road ahead for them will be always full of political situations and obstacles that will always be changing, that will be the true challenge. I pray that those decisions will reflect the best interest of the average individual of this nation.

Or is this just a pipe dream that I'm having again?

Skates I used to wear as a child now gather dust in my basement together with some wooden shoes and other memorabilia from "Back In The Day". Uncomfortable at best, they were hard to skate on, if you didn't have a decent shoe to lace them on to. Together with that nasty "wooden shoes, wooden head, wouldn't listen" insult, these have been consigned to the dustbin of history. Good for Macro Mondays only, HMM.

Fallschirmjägergewehr 42. 7.92x57mm mauser caliber. Used by only Nazi German Paratroopers known as the Fallschirmjager. It was only used as a prototype weapon. It was rejected because it only had a 20 round mag, they had to load the 20 round rifle magazine from the side, it had such a high rate of fire which burnt through the 20 rounder like warm butter, and with that high rate of fire and high caliber the recoil was massive.

Also: im sorry about the big white spot on the other version... i could have sworn that wasn't there.... anyway, whoever WoE'd my other version, can you please put this one on. It doesn't matter this one is just a better quality and you can see it better and i like giving you guys the best quality of my work as possibly :]

This is a reworked version of a photo I took in April, as I wanted to include the background. As we drove down the hill the sunset lit up the lake and silhouetted the two fishermen. The dark grey area between the hills is actually cloud.

Conrail GP38 7738 looks great in a fresh coat of Conrail Quality paint. This former Penn Central unit was idling on the Ford Lead in Teterboro, NJ waiting for a WPNB-39 crew to taxi over from North Bergen to resume work along NJ Transit's Pascack Valley Line. The recrew would arrive in the early evening, finishing up any remaining work on the Ford Lead before heading south after the evening rush hour. This unit is reportedly still in service today, working in New Orleans as NOPB 2003.

The amazing Sydney Opera House in full glow at golden hour. The setting sun has illuminated the Opera House in a golden yellow which is reflecting onto the harbor.

The Sydney Opera House was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007. It is one of the 20th century's most distinctive buildings and one of the most famous performing arts centers in the world.

The Sydney Opera House is on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It sits at the north-eastern tip of the Sydney central business district (the CBD), surrounded on three sides by the harbour (Sydney Cove and Farm Cove) and inland by the Royal Botanic Gardens.
