El claustro es de estilo gótico, de finales del siglo XV y su belleza se debe sobre todo a la perfecta armonía de sus líneas y a la gran calidad de la talla de la piedra. El claustro mayor ordena el conjunto y se configura en dos plantas. El claustro bajo se desarrolla mediante arcos apuntados, ocho en los lados mayores y siete en los menores, separados por unas potentes pilastras que al interior del jardín apoyan en contrafuertes. Las galerías están cubiertas con bóvedas de crucería simple realizadas en sillería a excepción de la plementería que lo es en ladrillo. Los nervios de la bóveda apoyan directamente en el muro sin ayuda de ménsulas. El claustro alto se desarrolla a modo de pórtico o mirador, cubierto con techumbre de madera y sustentado por columnas ochavadas de piedra.
The cloister is Gothic in style, from the end of the 15th century, and its beauty is due above all to the perfect harmony of its lines and the high quality of the stone carving. The main cloister orders the complex and is configured on two floors. The lower cloister develops through pointed arches, eight on the larger sides and seven on the smaller ones, separated by powerful pilasters that are supported by buttresses inside the garden. The galleries are covered with simple ribbed vaults made of ashlar masonry, with the exception of the plementería, which is made of brick. The ribs of the vault rest directly on the wall without the help of corbels. The upper cloister develops as a porch or lookout, covered with a wooden roof and supported by octagonal stone columns.

El claustre baix es desenvolupa mitjançant arcs apuntats, vuit als costats majors i set als menors, separats per unes potents pilastres que a l'interior del jardí recolzen en contraforts. Les galeries estan cobertes amb voltes de creueria simple realitzades en carreuat a excepció de la plementeria que ho és en maó. Els nervis de la volta recolzen directament al mur sense ajuda de mènsules. El claustre alt es desenvolupa a manera de pòrtic o mirador, cobert amb sostre de fusta i sustentat per columnes ochavadas de pedra.

These days I am spending quality time with hubby and various family members. We don’t sit on the fence for too long before we start another “adventure”, as the grandchildren call it. . I hope you find your little adventures this weekend, too. Happy Fence Friday.
This was originally called an Orchestral mandolin, then became popular with gondoliers. Production stopped, then two Sicilian brothers began making a number of historical instruments. The mandolin in contemporary times became known as the Pocket mandolin, and sort of a cult instrument. The Luther had them priced from about 300 dollars to 15,000. They all had the same woods, hardware and quality of production, What made the difference in price was the art work. This cost me 650 at the time, I think 3rd step up. The sound is wonderful and unique. The music score, Childgrove, was the first tune I learned on it.

John Deveuve’s 5300 cc 1906 Brasier Race About, BS 8606 race No. 120, on the Prescott speed hill climb during the Vintage Sports Car Club event on 7th August 2021.
This car is an example of the 25/36HP – a new model for 1906 being fitted with an L Head side valve engine design, instead of the previous T Head system, designed to give improved breathing. Aside from this the Brasier followed the previous pattern of powerful Brasier cars, having twin-chain drive, a pressed steel chassis, sliding pinion type 4-speed gearbox with quadrant gear change. The 24/36HP Brasier had a capacity of 5.3-litres and was a high-quality car of impressive performance, as one would expect from a firm with the competition pedigree of Brasier.
Norfolk Southern SD60M 6785 (former Conrail 5538) was leading CSX and NS GEs south on Canadian National train FDNS in the fall of 2002.
NS had gouged out its marker lights on the nose which seemed a bit of overkill.
A Norfolk Southern GP15-1 was rolling one of Chicagoland's bottle trains along the Indiana Harbor Belt. Both the former Conrail GP15-1 and that classic NYC-style signal gantry are long gone.
The brewery building in north Saint Louis is now residential. The smokestack remains. Thanks for looking up with me.
Cochin (Inde) - Nous sommes dans le bâtiment collectif de la communauté Dhobi-Wallah. C'est une salle multifonctions. On y sèche le linge lorsqu'il pleut, mais c'est surtout la salle de repassage.
Malgré la présence de l'électricité, les repasseuses préfèrent utiliser leurs vieux fer à alimentés par des braises brûlantes. S'il est plus lourd que le fer électrique (modèle années 1950 tout de même), selon cette dame, l'antique fer à braises offre une qualité de travail incomparable.
Ironing room
Cochin (India) - We are in the collective building of the Dhobi-Wallah community. It is a multifunction room. Laundry is dried there when it rains, but it is especially the ironing room.
Despite the presence of electricity, ironers prefer to use their old irons powered by hot embers. If they are very heavy compared to electric irons, according to this lady, the antique charcoal iron offers an incomparable quality of work.

Claude M. Cox's original Overland car was developed in the early 1900s by the Standard Wheel Company of Terre Haut, Indiana. The Overland Company was formed in 1903 by Mr. Cox and Charles Minshall but it didn't take off until John North Willys arrived in 1907. Mr. Willys was a New York auto dealer and a major Overland customer. He ordered 500 Overlands and paid a deposit of $10,000. After his product was not delivered, he traveled to Indiana only to find Overland on the point of closure. Wanting to recoup his investment, Willys secured additional credit and reorganized the company. By mid-1908 they were in a position to build a new factory. Production increased and by 1909 the company had moved to Toledo, Ohio. Willys eventually became president of the company.
From 1910 to 1914, the company produced only four-cylinder models and they were all right-hand drive. (The company began using left-hand drive in 1915). In 1914, Overland was the second-largest producer of cars in the US, behind only Ford. While the Model T appealed to the masses, the Overland was an upmarket model selling for approximately twice the cost of a T. The Overland was more spacious, more powerful, and larger than the FOrd and its four-cylinder engine had separately cast cylinder jugs. An electric starter was available as a $125 option in 1914.
Overland built a quality automobile that was advanced for its time. The early models had a removable ignition plug that prevents auto theft.
During the 1920s, Willys-Overland produced the Willys Knight, which was powered by the sleeve valve engine designed by Indiana native Charles Knight. During World War II, Willys produced the Jeep. Several modern Jeep models pay homage to their Overland roots with the name of their top models wearing the 'Overland' nameplate.

We recently have extended rain, and we need it. I drove from the Silicon Valley to La Honda, located on the peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. The hilly area is full of redwoods. I drove along a windy road among redwoods, it was drizzly and foggy.
I processed a photographic, a paintery, and a balanced HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the curves and color balance, desaturated the image, and added strong vignetting. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

So I attended the AC DC 'Power Up' concert at the Sydney (Accor) Olympic Stadium, at Homebush in western Sydney, last Friday 21st November, 2025, and then again on Monday, 25th November, 2025.
It was VERY loud but amazingly energetic. My two daughters were NOT at all impressed, arguing that Taylor Swift is far better and more popular. "Well," I argued back, "let's see who has sold more tickets, and which tickets sold the fastest?" So we looked at the Ticketek website and guess what? AC DC destroyed Taylor Swift for sales!!! "OMG," declared Miss 18, "there must be SO many old people in Sydney." See what I live with.

Wisteria is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae (Leguminosae), that includes ten species of woody climbing vines that are native to China, Korea, Japan, and the Eastern United States. Some species are popular ornamental plants. Wisterias climb by twining their stems around any available support.The flowers are produced in pendulous racemes 10 to 80 cm long, similar to those of the genus Laburnum, but are purple, violet, pink or white. There is no yellow on the leaves. Flowering is in spring (just before or as the leaves open) in some Asian species, and in mid to late summer in the American species and W. japonica. The flowers of some species are fragrant. Wisteria, especially Wisteria sinensis, is very hardy and fast-growing. It can grow in fairly poor-quality soils, but prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil. It thrives in full sun. 5405
