Le lac de Montriond se trouve en Haute-Savoie sur la commune de Montriond, dans le Chablais français. Le lac est fréquenté par les pêcheurs et surtout par les promeneurs et randonneurs.
Le lac de Montriond est né suite à l'éboulement d'une partie de la montagne de Nantaux au Nord Ouest. Cet événement géologique non daté avec certitude (de 4500 ans à 3 ou 4 siècles !) a provoqué un barrage sur le torrent qui courait au fond de la vallée, d'où la formation du lac.
Lac de Montriond is located in the commune of Montriond in the French Chablais region of Haute-Savoie. The lake is popular with anglers and, above all, with walkers and hikers.
Lake Montriond was created when part of the Nantaux mountain to the north-west collapsed. This geological event, which has not been dated with any certainty (between 4,500 years and 3 or 4 centuries!), caused a dam to form on the torrent that ran along the bottom of the valley, hence the formation of the lake.

The sweet, lazy whistles of Eastern Meadowlarks waft over summer grasslands and farms in eastern North America. The birds themselves sing from fenceposts and telephone lines or stalk through the grasses, probing the ground for insects with their long, sharp bills. On the ground, their brown-and-black dappled upperparts camouflage the birds among dirt clods and dry grasses. But up on perches, they reveal bright-yellow underparts and a striking black chevron across the chest.
Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area (STA)
Located in western Martin County, the Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area plays a crucial role in the restoration of the Lake Okeechobee watershed by improving the quality of water flowing into the lake. The wetlands treats stormwater runoff from the Taylor Creek and Nubbin Slough basins to the north before that runoff enters Lake Okeechobee.
Approximately 2,700 acres of Lakeside Ranch is open to the public to enjoy hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing or simply relaxing. The recreation area is surrounded by levees that are accessible to visitors on foot or on bicycle.

These days I am spending quality time with hubby and various family members. We don’t sit on the fence for too long before we start another “adventure”, as the grandchildren call it. . I hope you find your little adventures this weekend, too. Happy Fence Friday.
I went over to my sister's this morning and found Cleo in her living room where she was quality testing the new deckchair cushion which was lying on the floor. Nobody knows more about the quality of cushions than cats and apparently the quality of this one is good as Cleo had no intention leave it any time soon.
The tonal quality of never knowing want, of always being provided for, of being sure that others will clean up her mess: her voice was full of money.
……. Melin Tregwynt, a small woollen mill in Pembrokeshire - well worth a visit to see the working mill & shop, once upon a time driven by a water wheel that is still there but not driving the mill. A good place to grab a bite to eat as well - what more could you want.. Alan:-)……

Art Week Gallery Theme

So I went in search of the Eduardo Kobra Mother Theresa/Ghandi mural and within 4 blocks got these shots as well. Notice how cloudy it was, but the sun popped out just for a few minutes.
Reminded me of when I used to ski. The mountain often didn't look so high or so steep or so far!
We chose to walk the dirt path just off to the right which takes you through some woods, crosses a little brook and eventually leads you to the Temple of Love and the Rock Garden!

So I attended the AC DC 'Power Up' concert at the Sydney (Accor) Olympic Stadium, at Homebush in western Sydney, last Friday 21st November, 2025, and then again on Monday, 25th November, 2025.
It was VERY loud but amazingly energetic. My two daughters were NOT at all impressed, arguing that Taylor Swift is far better and more popular. "Well," I argued back, "let's see who has sold more tickets, and which tickets sold the fastest?" So we looked at the Ticketek website and guess what? AC DC destroyed Taylor Swift for sales!!! "OMG," declared Miss 18, "there must be SO many old people in Sydney." See what I live with.
