I like this "fake" tree - good use of LED's and wires.

The Acros 100 and the Pyrocat HD works very well. Acros already a "sharp" film and the enhanced sharpness of the Pyrocat HD in semi stand accentuates this. Still holding details in the deep shadow of the overhang too.

The convoluted branches of the trees. The Nikkor 85f2 in Rf mount was one of the first lenses Nikon supplied with the original Nikon 1 in the late 40's. Some changes over the decades, coating etc. Still a great short tele lens. Maybe not the scalpel sharpness of some of the newer lenses - but a nice smooth look to it.

Lush tree at Jericho Bech. The 15 is good for shots like this - everything kind of drops away from the main subject. I am most likely only 8-10 frry away from the tree!

It is also a lens, just like the 12mm that is unforgiving when it comes to holding straight. Even the slightest tilt will show up!

Photographed August 2018 / Rolleiflex 1 with Carl Zeiss Jena Triotar 7.5cm/3.8 , film was Ilford 3200 DELTA PRO metered at ASA 1000 developed in PYROCAT-HD (5ml A + 25ml B > 600ml, 8min 15sec @ 20*C). Hope everyone's ready for some more barbershops, because here they come!

This is the ninth, and final, in a series of images I was allowed to take over the course of a long afternoon at the Allstate Barber College in downtown Cleveland, OH. For the past 35 years, All State has been serving the community, providing experience for hundreds of barbers each year while offering quality, discount hair styling to all that stop in.

Apparently, the one day I'd chosen to photograph this barber college was the day before midterm exams! Stoops! >__< It explains the bewildered looks I received from many students when I asked them for a portrait, but of them, some were still happy to oblige. Did I mention there's always a need for female barbers in Ohio? ^__^

Outside the Lamborghini store. Obviously Aston's can't share the showroom with the Italian products.Looks pretty good - though the best looking of the Aston's was the DB4 Zagato "double bubble". The new ones lack the presence of that car.

Between 1935 and 1949 Leica produced one of the more interesting lenses in their line-up. The 90mm f2.2 Thambar. It came with a filter with a centre spot that cut out the central rays of light - the image was created by the off axis rays only. Today it is a highly sought after collectible of course. Less than 3000 made.

I decided to see if I could re-create a Thambar look by sticking a centre "dot" on a 52mm filter and use the Heliar 75f1.8 - and see if it had any effect.

Contrast is softer and there is some effect, but where the Thambar had an almost dreamlike effect - it is less pronounced with the Heliar. I will experiment further - maybe a slightly translucent material for the spot?

I suspect that this combination would work quite well as a "vintage" looking portrait lens too. The original Thambar was designed for that purpose.

It is cement breeze blocks - and the Fomapan retro 320 gives it a truly gritty look!

Always a sucker for symmetry. I did do some vertical correction to stop it leaning over this was on the 50mm f1.2 Nikkor. Not with original hood, that's a snap on and snaps off I think there was a screw on specific I will investigate.

A bright and cold break from the clouds. The Fomapan 100 is quite good and the S Skopar 28mm f3.5 is superb. One of my favourite lenses, both for its compact size and its performance.

Did they start wrong at the top and correct at the bottom?

The R4M has an almost SLR like faculty for giving what you see with the 28 frame. Even framing tightly you don't loose anything. Most rf-cameras are moore loose with the framing - generally a bit more than the viewfinder shows - the R4 is precise.

It is still one of my favourite bodies to use. Always along for any wide angle lens.

After the Walker Evans show we went to the caffe at the Art Gallery for sustenance. It is actually a good place for luch - or, as in our case - a late eying snack.

This was stopped down to f8. The edge fall off on the Orion is actually less than on the Summaron 28. Sharness is good and here the Retropan 320 worked well - nice mid-tones.
