Photographed December 2018 / Ricoh 500, 35mm rangefinder with RIKEN Ricomat 4.5cm/2.8 lens. Film was KENTMERE 400 bulk stock metered ASA 200 developed in sodium carbonate version PYROCAT-HD (5ml A + 50ml B > 600ml, 7min, 20*C). Negative was scanned in a JUMBL scanner box unit; image was processed & finished in Flickr.. Trimmed very slightly out of 'full frame'. VERY occasionally circumstances combine to obtain this quality of light: very still damp air, a frost on the ground and morning mist as rays from the rising sun filter through the branches of trees. A wonderful moment in time I feel privileged to have captured on film.

I pass this bit of railing all the time on the way to my favourite little stretch of shore but on this day it seemed especially graphic set against the bleakness beyond.

Needed tripod at full height and a small folding footstool for this one. Massive amount of front rise needed to get this, very doubtful if you could do this without a view camera of some kind (a tilt-shift on 35mm wouldn't work I don't think, and it would look very weird anyway).
Thanks to the photography gods were offered for the light and visibility. The 15mm was far too wide here the 50mm always ready, made a change from a 35mm standard but I'm not swopping permanently.
Photographs made while exploring and documenting Ohio’s State Nature Preserve system. Some of the only places left in the state where nature remains uninterrupted. These lands are underappreciated, underfunded, but rich with a subtle beauty that I revere with my view camera.

Completed in 1905 the Brantford Station is the fourth station to serve this line, the first two being constructed by Buffalo & Lake Huron Railway and the next two by Grand Trunk. Designed as a propaganda piece to inspire confidence in the railway. Following the Picturesque aesthetic and incorporating Gothic, Romanesque, and Italianate details it is a grand example of turn-of-the-century architecture that would go on to inspire Guelph's Central Station. When Canadian National ceased passenger service, VIA rail took over operations and maintains it here today.

This month's FP4Party, I decided to take a more focused approach on the party and decided to explore three different areas that make up the original sections of Oakville. These images are from Kerr Street to the harbour, where William Chisholm first established the settlement of Oakville. While not as dense with historic buildings, it does have the oldest building in the town, Lyon's Cabin built in 1820. Also, the Turner Chapel, a former African Methodist Episcopalian Church established in 1890 that ministered to the hundreds of former slaves that sought freedom in Upper Canada, later Canada West and Ontario.
