Pyramids of GüÃmar . Tenerife.
Mysterious and controversial, but still worth a visit, especially for the very nice garden next to it, the great documentary about adventurer Thor Heyerdahl and his travels and the Rapa Nui exhibition.
The site is very well maintained and organized, but they emphasize a little too much on the Thor Heyerdahl theory, ignoring pretty much all other theories about the origins of the Pyramids.
From Wikipedia.
The Pyramids of GüÃmar refer to six rectangular pyramid-shaped, terraced structures, built from lava stone without the use of mortar. They are located in the district of Chacona, part of the town of GüÃmar on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. There are claims that the structures have been dated to the 19th century and their original function explained as a byproduct of contemporary agricultural techniques. However, results of excavations have so far proved inconclusive.
Other pyramids employing the same methods and materials of construction can be found in various sites on Tenerife. In GüÃmar itself there were nine pyramids, only six of which survive.

Today tourists enter the Great Pyramid via the Robbers' Tunnel dug by workmen around 820 AD. This hole in the wall is about 7 m below the original entrance.
I love the effect when you look up at this building. Because of it's pyramid shape it looks way higher then it actually is.
The entrance to the Pyramid is booby-trapped to drop snakes onto unsuspecting thieves.
