Dad built this pyramid out of plywood...these are the East and South facing sides. The East had the door with the ankh. We also added hieroglyphs on the door that said "Knock, Knock...who's there?...Joe...Joe who?...Joe Mummy"
The Pyramid Peak lookout was built in 1942 and functioned as a spotter station to guard against possible attacks from the Japanese during WWII. The lookout was used as an Aircraft Warning Service station until June 1944, when the AWS was abandoned. At one time there were 13 such stations in Olympic National Park. Today, only the Pyramid Peak and Dodger Point Fire Lookout remain.
The Center of the World
Felicity, CA
A three dimensional bronze of Michelangelo's Arm of God, from the Sistine Chapel, serves as a 15 foot sundial at the entrance to the town. It is pointing directly at the Center of the World inside the Pyramid.
This is the pyramid of Kheops. It probably takes a second look to notice that guard trying to kill the time in the shade of the huge stones of the pyramid. The picture might be a witness for the diminishing size and significance of this soldier and his generation when compared to the history and achievement of ancient Egypt.
Tourist police and camel drivers. You are not allowed to take pictures of police (unless they approach you for money).
A friend of mine recently came back from a trip to Egypt and told me he had something for me. Said this is from one of his trips back there.
