Pyramid Lake is a kidney-shaped lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It lies at the foot of Pyramid Mountain, a natural landmark that overlooks the town of Jasper.

Located at the foot of the Pyramid Peak, Pyramid lake is about 1,2 square km in area.

There is an island in the Lake, named Pyramid Lake Island,

connected by the wooden foot bridge.

Thank you all very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments :-))

Have a great weekend!

Pharaoh Khufu began the first Giza pyramid project, circa 2550 B.C. His Great Pyramid is the largest in Giza and towers some 481 feet (147 meters) above the plateau. Its estimated 2.3 million stone blocks each weigh an average of 2.5 to 15 tons. I photographed the pyramids from different angles and perspectives, but this long shot is one of my favorites.

Taken back in the beginning of August... This is Pyramid Mountain and Island reflecting into Pyramid Lake. This remains one of my all time favourite spots to visit when I'm in the area.

These old volcanic cones from a volcano last active about 10 million years ago are on the Peninsula close to our city. My friend who is here from Seattle was using binoculars to have a closer look.

Sorry I have been away the last day or so.

The Pyramid of Djoser (or Djeser and Zoser), or Step Pyramid, is an archaeological site in the Saqqara necropolis, Egypt, northwest of the city of Memphis. The 6-tier, 4-sided structure is the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt. It was built in the 27th century BC during the Third Dynasty for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser. The pyramid is the central feature of a vast mortuary complex in an enormous courtyard surrounded by ceremonial structures and decoration.*

The Egyptian pyramids are ancient masonry structures located in Egypt. Most were built as tombs for the country's pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods.

The most famous Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. Several of the Giza pyramids are counted among the largest structures ever built. The Pyramid of Khufu is the largest Egyptian pyramid. It is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence.*

Sunset light on the clouds and peaks there along this pretty lake near Jasper.

There are some small pyramids in the image but I just don't recall why I gave it that name. I must have had a reason. If you see me you might ask me about it.

This is the second largest of the trio of pyramids in Egypt and the only one that still has a bit of the limestone left at its peak.
